Aluminum side door panel corrosion
Has anyone experienced or noticed oxidation/corrosion to lower part or edges of aluminum side door trim panels?

The trim strip on the door or on the door skin itself? The trims do discolor, we have replaced a few sets under warranty. Notice it more on the night package cars usually.

Does anyone know how to remove this aluminium panel? Do you need to remove the whole door and loosen screws from the inside or can you use a plastic dismantling tool to take it out?
I have a replacement since mine is full of scratches, hence my question.
Any advice appreciated!!!

Ah great, thanks! And i suppose there is screws inside to take out the aluminium trim itself? Found a tutorial on youtube for a w204 where it is like that.

I haven't personally done one, and a quick look through WIS didn't indicate anything useful. What does the new part look like? Some of them are melted on, some have press on clips, some have screws.

Just checked the new part, seems like there is only clips (see pic) So actually removing the door panel may not be needed!
