Price Check 2015 AMG C63s 40k Miles? Owner reviews?
Hello Mercedes enthusiasts, I recently came across a 2015 AMG C63s for sale for 50,000 bucks with 40k miles my boss is trying to sell. Additional packages include the lighting and multimedia packages. Is this a fair price or how much is this car currently worth including the additional packages? Some of my buddies are telling me owning a car of this caliber is a chance of a lifetime and I'd be crazy not to buy it since it's a cold blooded 500+ HP AMG. Out of all the Mercs I've owned, I have yet to buy an AMG and have had the privilege to drive one once (AMG GTR) so this is a bit stressful. I'm not too sure about the price since she does have a couple years under her belt. Should I go through with the deal? The car is still under warranty. Also, those who own or have drove this beast, do you guys like it? Thanks guys on the advice just found one another one a dealership near me for 53,000 dollars with 42,000 miles but $ is negotiable. Scroll down for more details I couldn't figure out how to bump the post (sorry I'm new to the cite) .

2 on eBay one is mid 30000 miles and the other is 20,000 miles - you be the judge . Price isn't that bad looking at these 2 , in canadian dollars its around $66,000 and most 2015's up here are listed around there. I wouldn't listen to advice from those that don't own one or here say . Just go on craigslist and search through cities ... it doesn't take long to do

I just bought a 2015 ED1 C63S sedan a month ago from my local dealer. It only had 5k miles. I picked it up for 59k, they were asking 65k. It's a very fun car. Although, I would think you could get at least 5k slashed off that price.

I have a '15 C63S with just over 40K miles on it. No major issues whatsoever. A few squeaks hear or there, but nothing major like others on here seem to complain about.
As for the asking price, I think $50K is a little steep. My car is fairly well equipped and in near-perfect condition, and pricing checks I've done on mine (not Edmunds or KBB, but actual offers from places that pay cash at a near trade-in price), I'd expect Private Party retail to be in the low $40K range at the most.

my instinct can't help but feel your boss is pulling a fast one on you if that's a US Dollar price on a 3 year old car with 40k miles. Ofcourse you could knock the price down potentially to arrive at a sensible price. best thing to do is shop around on the net to see if any cars with similar age and mileage are out there to compare against. it doesn't look like it has many options on it either.

Do any of you guys take in consideration the amg performance seats and exhaust, carbon trim, etc when formulating what you think the right price is? I could see 45k or so for one that doesn't have all of that... But like my car is equipped with all of those, I can't imagine it being worth less than 50 or so

Yes. Thus why I included MSRP in my post above. I think best to think in terms of overall options included and desirability thereof. For example, I did NOT want the performance seats when looking at available stock. To me it was an undesirable option. To each their own. If you really love the car and it has the perfect options for YOU, that could be worth a premium. I think there's a lot of these cars out there though.

that sounds like a bad deal to me. I was able to get a new 2018 with a MSRP of 88.7K for 76K plus another 4900 in lease tax credits this past weekend.
This was for a 3 year 12k deal

Thank you all for your inputs I really appreciate it, I just came across another one coincidentally with the same packages (multimedia and lighting) Certified Pre-Owned at a dealership not too far from me with approximately 42k miles for 53,500 dollars. Called up the dealership and they said they'd be willing to talk price. What would be a solid counteroffer? Not looking to lowball, but towards the lower spectrum of the market value would be ideal. Going to check out the car tomorrow, but in the mean time I'm gonna keep searching to find out what other dealers are trying to get for them with similar packages. Thanks again everyone for the help!

A price a used car is going to sell at is based upon it's desirability on the used car market, not what it's original MSRP and/or option add-ons originally cost. The demand for certain options on a new car and the pricing they can sell for don't mimic what the used car market will fetch. For example, say a few years from now we find out the valves/actuators fail on the performance exhaust often and cost an arm and a leg to fix, then the standard exhaust is more likely to be worth more on the used market. If there was a Beanie-Baby-like frenzy to buy the Edition 1 car when new that drove up the price but a few years down the road most people look at the color schemes as being gaudy, they will take a hit in price compared to the standard models. I'm not by any means saying these examples are true. I'm just trying to should examples where demand can change over time.

'15 C63S
People have to remember that what seems to be desirable and discussed often on this forum is just a small subset of the total market for the C63S. Of course people on internet forums are going to want all the "cool" and latest/greatest features. But that doesn't necessarily reflect what other, non-hardocre buyers want in the car. Take manual transmissions in normal, everyday cars. Find any used everyday car that has an optional manual, and all the internet fanboys will swoon over it and will pay a premium over an automatic just to have it. That same car probably sat at the dealer for 6 months and had to be sold significantly below invoice just to move it off the lot. Now it's desirable.

That all depends on what the buyers on the used market are looking for and if there are enough of them passing over cars with standard seats to get one with performance seats. It has nothing to do with what they originally cost when new.

We just had a 2015 C63s very loaded up. It had 48,000 miles. We were asking $48995 for it reduced the price numerous times down to $44 owned it for $43k and still couldn't sell it. Sent it to auction. Clean car and carfax also.
