My first C63 - I have some questions
Hi everyone,
ive been looking through a lot of posts here gained quite a bit of information. I recently purchased a 2015 C63 sedan not the S, the car was located in and underground garage which he has roughly 30 high end cars. I think the car sat for a couple years so I plan on doing a full serivce. The car is litterly showroom condition with some factory stickers still inside that I removed, I’ve been taking it out stretching its legs and I’ve noticed a few things.
First of is the power is absolutely insane, coming from a 2017 Z06 this sedan would put bus lengths on that Vette the cornering is incredible, brakes incredible, the sense of forward thrust is wonderful.
Ive noticed I can’t seem to feel the difference between C and S+ in terms of the suspension settings, they all feel the same I’ve checked for any codes but nothing, maybe this is normal? Can’t seem to get Race Start to function maybe the non S doesn’t have it? My exhaust and transmission tune are still original before the update but I plan to leave it since I’ve read people feel a loss in power with the flash.
Love the stock exhaust sound but I can’t leave anything stock so I’ve ordered a AWE track and weistec air filters.

Can't be faster than the Z06, no way shape or form. Different driving experience but the new z06 is a damn animal.
Race start, are you meeting the correct enable conditions (Race mode, esp Sport, warmed up, everything closed, seatbelts on, etc), and pulling both shift paddles? You should get a message saying race start unavailable if you are doing it right and the car is stopping you for whatever reason, or else it will give you the confirmation dialog.

The base C63 doesn’t have race mode only sport plus, tempatures up, confirm with pulling both paddles back foot on brake car in D. No race dart available.

congrats on the new ride!
Has it been run in , over 1k miles ? doesnt affect the ability to launch I dont think but your operating temps for oil and transmission need to be white not blue .
take it over bumpy roads in sport plus and comfort , you should see a marked difference . enjoy !

Yep over 1k miles, Temps were in the white, foot hard on brake pulled both paddles back towards me at same time but no indication. I’ll give it another try today.
Thanks!

It can’t be faster then a Z06? I owned that car for 2 years went to countless track events raced it from a dig I’d say over 80 times. YES this C63 will take the Z06 in a straight to 100kmh. Track not a chance, Z06.

Yes, two presses I believe puts it in sport mode, should see something on the dash to confirm, a yellow 'sport' or something of that nature along with an actual ESP: SPORT message across the display.

Got it to work! Issue was TC button not being depressed. I’m going to dyno this week because I don’t know how this car is only 476HP I have the non S. Feel like 550HP torque feels closer to 520. On another note, so much squeaking noise in the cabin damn.

Yep, it works if you meet all the conditions. The car may be tuned, in stock form they don't impress me much as powerful. Certainly nothing compared to the Z06's I've driven.

+1 for the squeaking. its' entirely too frustrating.. but if it helps any.. i took it to my dealer and they replaced the door jams (from a vinyl plasticky liner) with the felt lining that the new ones have. Yet to drive it to see if it made a difference, but they noted that previous customers noted a massive difference. This is the only complain i have about this beast

Z06 is slowwww imo
I rented one on turo for a rally once
Auto car, took ages to shift... And past 100mph it felt like it was in turtle mode just barely creeping along. Couldn't get it past 130-140 without it overheating and going into limp mode, was always heat soaked, brakes were straight trash in it.
But I've ran a friend's CTS V3 (heavier yes, but most of the problems I mentioned above fixed, no heat soak) and put busses on him. I am a tuned but im sure stock for stock would have been a better race

i'll take pics when the sun is out--but i'll tell you that modification alone has made a huge difference in the squeak when the body is rolling. the parking garage i live in used to have my car creaking every time i went up a ramp, adn now it's completely gone. Still minor rattles in the cabin itself (which i'm taking it back for AGAIN)... but the felt liners made a huge difference imho.
