touch up red ring on steering wheel

Anyone got issues with fading red leather ring on the steering wheel? I've been searching and I guess all I can do is buy a red dye leather kit to repaint them... any recommendations?

Do you wear rings and drive with one hand at 12 o'clock?

If the car is still new, it could be covered under warranty.

No I do not wear rings... it was just dirty and faded.... so I used Griots leather cleaner to wipe off the dirt and it literally faded even more.... now it’s left with super faded red ring on top of the steering wheel... I haven’t had any luck with getting anything covered under the warranty... seems like they always come up with excuses to get anything covered... my car is 2015 so I got one year left on the warranty

Does the car sit out in the sun a lot as red is the worst for fading.

Its such a small area you will have to be careful with application of any dyes.
I haven't personally experienced the issue but I would perhaps get a recommendation from a local upholstery shop.
They have probably seen similar issues with leather in general.

You could probably touch it up with paint, but you'd have to mask it off REALLY well to ensure it doesn't drip or seep into the sides.

I have an alcantara wheel, so I wasn't willing to risk it. So I just had the vinyl shop measure and cut a thin strip of vinyl, and applied it to the ring. Looks PERFECT, and you can't even tell it isn't paint.

I also got an alcantara wheel... that’s a great solution... never thought about it... guess now I need to find a vinyl shop
