Removing this grille

I want this done in black thinking of wrapping it but I feel like due to the sharp edges the wrap will peel, I would take it to a professional wrapper. I noticed small tabs on the back, if prying with a plastic pry tool while pushing the tabs will this grille come off? Or do I need to remove entire grille? Second picture is what I’m after.

I've taken it to a few shops for this, and the consensus i'm getting is that wrapping it won't turn out looking perfect. It'll look good from afar, but when coming close you'll notice where the lines start to merge like you mentioned.

All the shops mentioned that taking it off and painting it would be the best look if you're a perfectionist. I haven't decided which route i'm going to go with personally yet.

Hope that helps.

You'll risk getting a lot of paint chipping if you paint it. Pick your poison. I've seen some really good wrap jobs in other threads.

You had this wrapped? Good to hear it's holding up well for you. Any close up pictures? Do you know if they had to use multiple pieces adn sort of "cut them to fit" at the seems?

Thanks!

Vinyl wrap (Gloss or Satin Black) or Plasti-Dip (Satin black) can be done on the car. If you want to remove to have the grill painted, best to take off the bumper to properly remove the grill. Some tabs are very hard to reach.

Yes its a gloss black wrap. the bumper is SUPER easy to get off but it isnt required to do it. a good wrap installed can do it on the car.

I watched a shop remove the bumper and remove the grill on my C63 Coupe. I can tell you that based on where some of those clips are, if you're not removing the bumper, you're probably breaking clips and tabs. It's a "you need to remove the bumper" typa job. It really is.
