Just went through the process of replacing my engine and noticed that the part number (for the long block) for the S and NON S are different.
But I can't find any information as to why... Perhaps upgraded internals on the S?

The only real difference I have noticed is the S is holding value better. Since I bought mine the % drop on the non-S has been greater but that only matters if you care. At the time (2018), mine was around 40k while the S was 45k+ which nudged the S just out of my price range. Now mine is about 32k with an S around 40k with similar mileage etc.
Between MY18 and MY19 I will say it is better to get the 19 because of the 9 speed gearbox vs the 7 speed in the <19 models. The 7 speed box is by far the worst thing about this car for me and is a dog to drive sometimes especially when cold. I had the 9 speed in my C43 and it was much more responsive. It appears to make a huge difference and seems to correct the issues the 7 speed has based on reviews I have seen (not driven a 9 speed C63 yet). For what it's worth I'd say to drive an 18 and 19 b2b and see what you prefer.
I've had over a dozen 911's including a ***** to the wall 1986 Turbo but I'll take my 2020 AMG C63S cab over any of them. Get the S if you can!
Call me a poser

Wait can you even justify being a poser when your are driving the one of the hottest coupes on the road stamped with a AMG badge and a fresh paper temporary licensee.
This enthusiast stuff is so personal at the end of the day , half the talk goes in one ear out the other.
Its all about what you are comfortable with.
Drive a C63 = A fun Drive
Drive a C63s = A fun drive
At just under $20 I get a full-tank of Gas , cant remember the last time I even seen the gas station.
Do you think this will change after i take ownership of a V8 monster? are my $20 gas days just about over?
