C63 vs. C63S
I'm looking at the C63 Cabriolet and am trying to determine what difference there is between the C63 and C63S variants. From what I can tell, from online builds, the S variant has more power and that's it. No options or packages as standard compared to the C63. I searched for this topic, but nothing was found.

There are a number of differences between the C63 and the S besides power. @Rubpau mentioned most of them, but starting with the '19 both the C63 and S now have the electronic rear differential. In addition the AMG Drive Unit is standard on the '19 C 63 S and optional on the C63 and there are some interior choices that are only available on the S and I probably forgetting something. Are you looking at MY19 or older? I do have the order guide for MY19 that shows it all, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share it online. If you are interested in MY19, contact a dealer and have them send you the order guide. The differences are all in there.

Honestly, I wouldn't look at it from a performance perspective. The difference is negligible. The C63S is worth it if you were planning to spec many or most of the packages (eg: upgraded rims, interior nappa leather, etc). The price of lots of these options are included or significantly reduced for the S-models. The regular C63 is a really great value if you don't need any of those. In fact, it's possible to option out a C43 to be more expensive than a lightly optioned C63 LOL.
It's a lot like the 911 S models vs the GTS. The slightly higher-end GTS essentially just bundles a lot of niceties into the price.

I was looking at MY'19, but I was wondering if a better value would be a CPO '18. My thoughts are if I can get MY'18 CPO with nearly the same equipment, options, etc., then I may want to go that route. I would think that an off lease vehicle might be a good idea. I'm just apprehensive when buying used.

dealer order guide says c63s has dynamic engine mounts and the c63 does not. I would assume that plays a larger role with the new ride control from the amg gtr. Also in 2019 the dynamic engine mounts are improved because of the new system according to an amg engine builder i chat with. He says it allows the car to put down power better especially coming out of corners and from reviews i have seen they seem to concur with that statement.

I picked the S model because I wanted the black rims and Nappa leather (which are more expensive for the non-S) and it was only around $5K more to make the jump. For me, the extra goodies like launch control, HP bump, and nice red calipers were worth the increase.

One could argue that the C63 is more the status symbol/poser version for those who wanna be seen in an AMG on the way to work, but never really do any kind of driving that warrants such a car in the first place. Especially if you option it closer to a base model. The price difference shrinks somewhat if you start adding options as some options are standard on the S or cost more on the non-S. The S is more focused for those who do the kind of driving this car was built for. In particular the Race (Track) mode, dynamic engine mounts, e-diff vs mechanical diff (<MY19) and the 9-stage traction control from the GT-R (MY19). Especially the latter is all about actually putting the power down in corners. It makes quit a bit of difference. No point in tuning the engine if the power can't be put down. The dynamic engine mounts do improve comfort on one side of the spectrum, but they improve the dynamics on the other end allowing to manage the weight better in the corners, which ultimately does help putting down better power as well. It makes the car drive lighter and more nimble in corners.

Haha just kidding
Also forgot we have the GTR 9-stage traction control. That’s going to be fun

Not sure how dynamic engine mounts would improve grip. Carwow’s review explained the mounts can help “improve comfort or provide better balance.” Regardless, I don’t think this would be noticeable daily driving or even on the track unless you were really pushing the limit.

These questions always end up exactly like this. The honest answer is that on a 4k pound car, the difference is negligible at best. Get the one that makes the most sense to you and don't overthink it. I drove both back to back. I for one couldn't justify paying 85-92k so I went with a non S with all the options I wanted. Sticker was 77k. To some people, the extra options are worth it but that is more for personal satisfaction than actual performance improvement, which is totally fine. At the end of the day, it's a luxury good and we spend extra on them for personal satisfaction. And if your justification for getting an S is because it is more "track focused" you're doing it wrong anyway.
