What would you do differently?
I'm knew to the MBWorld and thinking of getting a C63s or E53 (both in coupe). Today I have a 911 C4 and an Audi s7. The 911 is older and heavily modified. I'm thinking of selling the Audi. Wife just bought a c43 sedan.
If you had to do it over again, would you or wouldn't you and why? Build quality not what you expected, service not up to par, etc. Or just the opposite.
What might you do differently? Not get this option or that, or be sure to get a specific option(s). Not get the c63s and get something else instead?
Leaning towards the c63s. I've yet to drive the e53 and only got to drive the c63s for a very short drive in the rain in busy traffic, so I really didn't get the sense of the car.
Drive in crazy traffic for about an hour each way to work and we do get snow each year, though not a bunch.

I would certainly buy this car again. Likely a Benz fan for life now. I’ve owned a Cayman before this and the quality, manliness, all around capability, and fit and finish are so much better than my Porsche that I never looked back. I would get the carbon ceramics if I had it to do over and upgrade the rear cast irons to ceramics down the road.
You wont be disappointed.

for sure I'd be this car again, but in the matte grey, performance seats, carbon ceramic brakes, and amg aero package. The matte color imo really do the coupe justice. If you get heavy snow don't get the c63. Light snow, no problem, but only with the right tires

I just came from a 2016 BMW M3 into a 2018 C63 S and there are a few pros/cons to the Mercedes, but overall I'm extremely happy with my decision. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
Much more comfortable car to drive overall, in traffic or around town
Much better sounding exhaust/engine, the straight 6 in the BMW really sounds horrible
Much better factory sound system (burmeister vs. Harmon Kardon). I had to upgrade the speakers in the M3 to get even remotely close to my old Lexus GS
Cons:
Windshield wipers skip across the glass, not a huge deal but it gets a bit annoying. I have yet to take it to the dealer though, so perhaps this will get fixed down the line
Things I would do differently:
I opted for a car with the heated/cooled seats vs. the sport seats since I live in Houston. If I had to do it over again I would definitely go with the sport seats.
My car does not have the parking assist package, but I would really like to have it.
As I said overall I am extremely happy with my decision. I always liked my M3, but felt like I was constantly getting beat up by the suspension, even in comfort mode. I would also say that for the last 12 years I have only leased cars, changing every 3 years. This is the first car that I honestly think I wouldn't mind owning for the long term.

I think I would have spent the extra money for the E63 or RS7, both of which were larger than what I wanted, but they have all wheel drive and probably built to a higher spec. However, I am not unhappy with my decision and the car is surely comfortable to drive and is really fast and handles well.

#1: I wouldn't get the HUD option - never use it, can't see it with my sunglasses on.
#2: I would have gotten the 19/20" wheels instead of the stock 19". I like the design of the 19" better but I think 20" rear has more compatible tire choices without upsizing.
#3: The ventilated seats are pretty anemic even on max, and they seem to cut off when you are stopped even with the engine running. I know they aren't "real" AC seats but they aren't super useful to me.
#1 and #3 didn't break the bank so I'm not losing any sleep, but I just don't use them.

C63s is amazing!
#1 I personally love the HUD, one of my favorite features. (Need non-polarized sunglasses to see it)
#2 If you plan to keep the car stock, you MUST get the performance exhaust system (or regret for the entirtey of your ownership)
OR
if you plan to add some mods, save money by getting the basic exhaust system and change over to downpipes for the 30 or so horsepower gain+incredible volume increase
#3 if Mercedes is still putting "michilian pilot super sports" as the stock tire, change day 1.....they cant hook or keep traction at all

Love the HUD and would never again buy a car without it.
Gear/RPM/MPH right is front of your eyes, and without, when you look down your eyes have to adjust for the focal distance and light conditions so it takes a second.
When your using the navigation the turns are right there also.
When I was looking the dealer had one on the lot I could have but I turned it down and ordered and glad I did.
If you buy one off the lot without you can rationalize that you don't need it but it is a deal breaker for me.

im not a hud person either, but its kinda cool. Traffic rain and snow is tough.. C43 is a good option.. GLC63 maybe for snow (did you see the GLC63cS pull just over 3 min at VIR's lightning lap?), but the E53 is nice.. I will say the mild hybrid system isnt as loud though.. fast and linear power.

I love HUD. To each his own. Funny thing, once I drive my C63 S for a few days and then hop back into my GTR. I initially find myself looking for HUD in the windshield of the GTR. Of course it doesn't have one.

Loved HUD on any car I have driven with it and miss it on my current car as it wasn't available.. I have it ordered on my c63s coupe.. I couldn't resist so I got every option except carbon ceramic breaks as the car won't be tracked.. Seeing people wish they had ordered the ceramic brakes makes me wonder why as they are noisy especially in cold weather and merc has a big warning for them in the dealer order guide for the sound they make. Not to mention EVERYONE at the dealer and an amg engine builder told me to skip it on my order as I won't be tracking the car and it will be my daily.
Per the order guide:
"The AMG Ceramic Compound Braking system has numerous benefits – namely, it is 40% lighter than a conventional steel braking system, offers significantly longer service life for the brake rotors, and provides exceptional resistance to brake fade under repeated aggressive stops.*
The materials in your AMG Ceramic Compound Braking system were derived from Formula One technology, and therefore will perform differently than conventional brakes.
Especially when cold, this ceramic composite material will resonate during braking and potentially feel less responsive under light brake pressure but with no loss in braking power. You will hear sounds, e.g. squealing, that you might not expect and which may be louder than what you are used to during ordinary everyday braking maneuvers – rest assured that this is a normal operating characteristic for this brake system, and is a by-product of the unique properties of the material. Mercedes-AMG recommends that the driver engage the brakes in an assertive manner in order to mitigate some of this noise during normal operation; Mercedes-AMG also recommends that the brakes be brought up to operating temperature before use in high-performance driving situations in order to improve braking performance."

if you need the space then I'd say E53 if only from that perspective, and perhaps also more advanced tech and a smoother more plush daily driver and something more civilised but albeit a bit more dull and less exciting .
if you want joy and a big smile on your face every time you sit in it, something lighter , more compact & agile , more powerful and a canny habit of shredding rubber then c63s.
both will handle snow but only a few inches thick, on winter tyres. Anything deeper and it is going above the front splitter and you will have ride height issues potentially too so ground clearance is a limiting factor. winter tyres trump AWD of course.
. In comfort mode i have been driven in light snow on summer tyres MPSS In the c63s and was just about okay. comfort mode is great for that and the 2019 cars have a special slippery mode just for this sort of thing . I have fitted alpin PA4s for this winter and drive around in 0c in sport plus without any concerns.
my recommended options are :
performance exhaust
night pack (check it will go with colour )
360 camera
driver assistance package ( great for highway driving )
premium pack with moonroof and burmeister
HUD display
wood dash

Only have my E53 convertible for a few days, and currently having it properly "protected" (paint correction, wrapped, ceramic coated, Escort 360Max and BlackVue Dash Cams), but for me..........HUD is a must, had it on my 650, and won't get a new car without it. I don't plan on tracking it, so the track option(counts laps, etc), is a waste and the "fragrance" system, will never get used. I haven't had the opportunity to use some of the electronics, but I did play with the distronic cruise control, and the ability for the car to pull out into a lane, just by touching the turn signal, is pretty cool, but not sure that I'd use it regularly, as I don't like giving up control to a machine. The massage seats are awesome, can't wait to use them on a long trip. The Burmeister sounds better than the B&O that was in the BMW. The sport exhaust is a must, unless you plan on doing something else. I have the 20" wheels, and the winter tire options are extremely limited, so if you're needing snows, look into it first!!!

The hud is a great feature but if you wear polarized sunglasses you can barely see it even on full brightness. Haven’t used the self parking and probably won’t. Performance seats were a must for me and once I adjusted everything on them prroperly, they are pretty comfortable. Black ash wood trim looks really nice for the interior too. I would also recommend getting either of the Oem upgraded wheel choices (black mesh or silver 5 star) as either one looks better than the standard wheels and will cost much less than buying aftermarket.

I found a good deal on my 2015 Edition 1 Sedan but it lacked a few features I really wish I now had:
360 cameras - It is difficult to accurately see the front corners of the car. Specifically, knowing when
to stop when parking to avoid having your front bumper contacting the curb or parking space cement stoppers.
The car is low enough, it usually will.
HUD - coming from Corvettes and Audi’s that had one, I miss it.
Adaptive Cruise Control? Question on this one only because I find the base collision and blind spot warning systems to be inaccurate with many false positives for things not in my lane or two lanes over, etc. I presume the sensors are better on the upgraded system. The system on my car is far inferior to the Audi S6 I had with Adative Cruise in this regard.
