Question about the S coupe 19" stock wheels/tires

Hello there,

New member here, about to place an order on 2019 C63S Coupe. I have a question about the 19" tires which I couldn't find the answer to.

The mbusa.com website page for the 2019 model states that the stock wheels/tires are:
  • Wheels19-inch AMG® twin 5-spoke (9.0x19 front, 10.5x19 rear)
  • Tires 255/35R19 front, 285/30R19 rear, high-performance
But the DOG pdf says this for the 19" option:
  • AMG Twin 5-Spoke 245/40 R 19 on 9.0 J x 19 ET45 (Front)
  • 265/35 R 19 on 10.5 J x 19 ET 56 (Rear)
Obviously one of these (highlighted in bold) is wrong, but I don't know which one. Does anyone here have them, or know what kind of rear tires come with the default wheels on C63S coupe?

I know this might be not the most popular opinion, but I like the AMG twin 5-spoke wheels the most. I especially like them as the 19/20 setup on AMG GT C, but since C63 doesn't have this option, 19" front/rear is the next best thing in my opinion. But I only test drove a 2019 C63S with 19/20 setup, and it had a surprisingly good grip in cold winter rain here in Seattle, on summer tires and in about 38F degrees. I definitely don't want any less grip than that, and if the 19" tires are not as wide it might be a problem for me.
So I think I have the following options:
  • Option A: The web site is right and the DOG is wrong. Probably the best option for me, as I get the wheels I like the most at no extra cost, plus 19" will be slightly more comfortable.
  • Option B: Get the 19/20 wheels. I get the grip I want, but it comes with the wheels I like a little less and at extra $1,600.
  • Option C: Get the wheels I like, but change the tires to the wider ones, potentially all-seasons to feel better in the cold/rainy time of the year, at about $1,000 extra.
I highly appreciate your suggestions and opinions, especially if you have experience driving this car in similar climate.

With the C63S Coupe, both the standard 19" wheels and the optional 19/20" wheels are 285 width tires in the rear.

The 245/265 setup for the Coupe is a misprint. Those are the widths for the 19" tires on the Sedan.

I hope I'm not asking the obvious here, but have you seen the new twin 5-spoke wheels in person? They added about a 1" lip on the inside of the rim which I think detracts from the wheel. They had to put a notch in it for the valve stem. I saw them at the dealer when I got my car and my initial reaction was... "Why the hell did they do that? The old style was better looking." Anyway, just a heads up in case you didn't realize they changed them a bit. I think the new ones look weird, but if you love them then obviously get what you want on your car.

Cheers on ordering your car. It's absolutely badass!! Haha!

Thanks! Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I saw them somewhere else, this lip pretty much hugs the brake disk if you look at it directly. This is probably some aerodynamic thing. I'm OK with it .

I didn't know about this change in the 2019 wheel design, and went looking for the difference. Figure I'd share what I found in case others are also doing similar research:

Yep, I have a ‘19 S with the twin spoke and they are borderline just plain ugly. Looking at Hre and Vossen options for a soon to do upgrade.

I have the 19” and 20” split spokes in black and wish I had gone with the 18” wheels instead. The ride quality is awfull and I’ve had to replace three tires and one wheel due to road hazards due to having no sidewall on the tires. Sure, they make the car handle great but it’s a daily driver and I can live without the harsh ride and easily damaged wheels and tires. Just my 2€.

I am in the market for a 2020 as my new daily and I am having these thoughts as well. I am giving real thought to ordering the non S model coupe for the 18s. I was not sure if they were 285 or 265 section rear because of the typo in the DOG but it has been corrected in the MY2020 DOG. Also trying to decide between performance seats or not. I have them in my GLA which is not a comfortable car, but I love the bolsters.

I'm in a similar situation. Yesterday I placed an order for a MY20 C63S Coupe. But I'm not in love with any of the wheel options.

Does anyone have the part number for the MY18 5 spoke wheels pictured in the post a few above this one? Part number for both front and rear. I tried searching one of the MB online parts sites and it's so hard to tell which wheel is which.
