So...I got SPANKED by the 2019 Porsche 911 Turbo S...

So the other day I was driving home, and I spotted the rear of what's clearly a 911 Turbo S, but it looked a bit different...especially the vents/louvers over the engine, just in front of rear spoiler. It looked very similar to this:

So naturally, I'm interested, and start closing in on the Porsche, at which point I see it really take off. Traffic was thick, so it took me several minutes to get lined up to it again, at which point it became VERY clear he wanted to run.

So we're both on an entry ramp to the highway, and I move over to the left lanes, and get on it. 3/4 throttle, and he's literally right on my tail. So I go WOT, and I'm in the 2nd left lane at this point, and he pops over to the left lane and literally just blows by me. Didn't slowly walk me; he pulled away HARD. I was shocked.

We lined up a few seconds later and I asked him, "Is that thing stock?!" And he said "YEA!" Gave me a big thumbs up, said how he loves my car, and then sped off.

I dunno...I was really disappointed. I know I only have 503, but the 2019 Turbo S only has 77 more bhp more, and the C63 seems to be underrated from the factory. I didn't think 77hp woulda let him pull away that hard from me. Freakin sucks.

I have a 2017 C63 S Edition One Coupe, 265s/305s, secondary cat delete. Otherwise stock. 43K miles (daily driver).

Time for a turbo upgrade...

LoL.... A turbo S can run the 1/4 mile in the 10's stock, its a beast ! .......0-60 is around 2.9 seconds I believe and its AWD and it costs roughly 3-4 times what you paid .....You picked the wrong car even with a tune .

No need to beat yourself up. Those two care are not even in the same league to be fair. The 911 Turbo S will have the w205 for breakfast all day every day.

I drive my pop’s turbo s and man there’s no comparison whatsoever between the two cars. Turbo s throws you back hard once them turbos spool up it’s a rocket ship. Not to mention awd..

Yeah, you bought the wrong car if you expect to keep up with a Turbo S. It's over 500 lbs lighter. The key is power to weight ratio. For the C63S to have the same power to weight ratio as the Turbo S, you'd need about 680 HP, so effectively you were short about 177 HP. That should put it in perspective.

Exactly. A Turbo S weighs 500+ lbs less than a C63S. And Porsche horsepower goes a long way, they have the weight over the rear wheels which makes for awesome traction with their RWD models... an AWD Turbo S will murder.

An upgraded turbo C63S with full bolt ons would be about even with a 991.2 Turbo S on the highway. Add a Cobb tune to it, and you’re looking at 135+ mph trap speeds on pump gas.

I find this thread particularly entertaining because I’m eyeing a 911 to replace the C63S - particularly a 991.1 Turbo S which are dropping down to the low 100k, and high 90’s for higher mileage examples. Just search ES850 911 Turbo and see what these things are doing when they upgrade turbos...

The 991.1 have issues with coolant pipes , better to get the 991.2 . The was looking at a 2012 white w/ red interior and 20000 mies . I couldn't believe the power it made , put a huge grin on my face . I just couldn't work out the trade in value as they low balled me . I spent a lot of time researching owner reviews and the it appears to be a very reliable car with few issues other than the coolant pipes which can be costly as the engine has to be dropped . The car I want the most is a GT2 ... if not a GT 3 RS ...one day !

I didn't realize that. I assumed it would be roughly similar in weight. I guess that makes sense.

Yes, that car is the benchmark. Good on you for attempting though, as I wouldn’t even have pulled up next to that car.

you'd need to put your c63 on a diet if you want to keep up with any turbo or turbo s. haha. a lot of people even underestimate the Carrera gts. "only 450BHP". yea but it weighs 3200 lbs and has one of the best auto gearboxes known to man kind with all of the weight sitting right over those 305s in the rear.

the turbo s is stupid fast...i almost got out of my 2018 c63 into a 2018 gt3 a few months after getting the c63 (things are going better then i thought at work) but i'm not going to do that until i buy a house.

I'm a huge porsche fan.

I built one on their site and it came out to 244k USD.. If I spent 244k on a car and a 80-100k car was right there in performance I wouldn't be too happy. I'd rather get a 600lt for that kind of money anyways.. I remember when 911 turbo's were 120k when an s55 was 140k.. now the s63 is 180k and the 911 turbo doubled in price. The 911 is an unreal car that defies physics.. I get it.. but damn that is a ton of money for a 911.. I think their pricing has gotten a little out of control but they do have the fan base to support it so more power to them i guess.

So how do you think I'd fare with intake, catless DP, Pure Stage 2 Turbos, and a tune? Very close to 700rwhp?

Unfortunately, you’d still get walked. It’s hard to compete with the 911’s awd.

A turbo S will spank almost any non hyper car out their in a straight line, and even do really well on track.

A Turbo S is also a prime example of how performance doesn’t always equate to fun. I actually find the Turbo S to be the least exciting car of the entire 911 lineup (yes, including the base Carrera).

From a roll, you'd probably be a fairly even run, maybe a car length or two either way. From what I've seen, a stock 991.2 Turbo S is good for a low 130's trap speed, which is pretty comparable to what you should be at given your mods.

Off the line though, I don't think there is anything anyone can do to a C63S to even begin to compete with a Turbo S. With both AWD and a very rear-bias weight distribution, the 911 simply jumps off the line in a way our RWD cars never will.

Yea I'm talking about drag racing/racing from a dig etc. They're AWD, and the few guys running the Pure Stage 2s simply spin their tires all the way through 3rd gear. I'm very curious how it would go from a roll, however...

I'm not a fan of piggyback ECUs, but it is one of the reasons why I'm eyeing the JB4 (once the kinks are worked out) not for ECU tuning or anything like that, but simply for boost by gear control. Power without control is useless...
