Heat Exchanger mesh covers

Heat Exchanger mesh covers

Since these stock units are prone to damage from road debris, causing leaks and potentially leaving you stranded has anyone come up with mesh covers for additional protection for the heat exchangers?

Problem is the more mesh you put on there, the more you'll impede airflow :-/

Negligible loss of flow, I would think if it's a thin wire mesh.

shmee has screen mesh installed on his GTR by Renntech he said they add the mesh to all there race cars

That mesh is probably about the same density as the stock mesh on my car... Maybe putting that sort of mesh behind the stock mesh might help a bit... Not too restrictive...

Nice might give this a shot. Mesh isn't going to cause noticeable disruption in air flow to the coolers, I wonder if shmee's car had any changes in normal trans/oil temps after bc of the mesh. Highly doubt it.
