PARKTRONIC on C63s? (2017)
I just bought this car 2 years used - on the options list is "235 - Active Park Assist". When I google for this it seems to come up as "Active Park Assistant including PARKTRONIC".
My question is, does the C63S with this option have the auto-parking PARKTRONIC? I think there is supposed to be a switch for it on the centre console - I don't have one, and I haven't seen any reference to it in the menus.

Yes, 235 is the self parking feature as far as I can tell. It's part of 996 - Parking Assistance Package. This guy is showing how it works in this video. The switch to turn it on/off is on the left above the light switch.

Have had this on three MB's now. To me it's a novelty. Depending upon where you work/shop and how much parallel parking you do on a weekly basis. I suspect a small percentage of owners may find it useful. I can tell you this. If you don't use it fairly regularly. You can forget the sequence. One thing that troubled me in the owners manual. Is that it specifically states you need to be mindful of where your tires/wheels are because they could still scrape on the curb. Huh? Well if I have to wonder/worry about it. I may as well park it myself - which I do.

Heh, fair enough. I still have that new car excitement where I want to try out every feature - I'm sure you're right and it will just become a novelty item.

I pressed the button and all it did was turn the parking sensors off...
It's the 3rd button here you were referring to right @superswiss

Sorry I'm watching the video now. This is really the least intuitive system I've ever seen. However I perversely like that it's hidden away...

Don't know about that. Seems straight forward. It indicates when it found a spot, and then when you engage reverse it asks if you want to self park and then you just follow the instructions. What else would you like to see? The icon that indicates if it found a spot could perhaps be a bit more prominent, but then maybe it would be annoying if you aren't actually looking for a parking spot. According to one commenter, it seems you don't even have to operate the brakes, the owner's manual just recommends to keep your foot over the brake, so you can intervene if something goes wrong. I'll have the system on my upcoming car, but not sure how often I'll use it. In the past, similar systems seemed much slower at parking than I can park myself, but I mostly got the parking assist package for the 360 camera, and not the self parking feature. It seems interesting and I might use it at night in dark areas where I have trouble seeing the curb myself for example.
