Pretty respectable time, that's 2 seconds faster than the last Black Series.

Yep, the first 7 gears are all shorter than the old 7 speed.

Not really. A C63S Coupe with MCT 9 is slower 0-155mph than a C63S Wagon with MCT 7. This might be due to the new OPF (filter) in the European version.

well, my statement was more about how the gears seems to keep the RPMs up, but your point has some validity on instrumented testing.

granted, mercedes claims no loss in power, so its very interesting

The numbers so far show that the 2019 is faster. You have the sedan vs coupe numbers here. The coupe is faster than the sedan. I think C/D hasn't tested the coupe yet, but here are the C/D pre-facelift numbers for the C63 S sedan. You can extrapolate the coupe numbers from this based on the 2017 numbers you have above. Put them side-by-side and the improvements are pretty respectable given that the power hasn't changed. For the sedan 1/4 mile went from 12.2@116 to 11.9@122. That's 0.3 sec faster. If you extrapolate that to the coupe it should go from 12.0@121 to about 11.7@???.

C/D TEST RESULTS:
Zero to 60 mph: 3.9 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 9.1 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 15.9 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.3 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.4 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 2.8 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 12.2 sec @ 116 mph
Top speed (governor limited, mfr's claim): 180 mph
Braking, 70-0 mph: 147 ft
Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.98 g

i think he meant that more as european pre facelift wagon is faster than a facelift coupe. the difference being a decrease in acceleration attributable to the gas particulate filter information about which can be found here

its made the euro cars quieter (992 specifically as an example comes to mind) vs US / ROW spec, hes speculating that it has made the cars less powerful, which in theory could be possible

That is my point. The car in the "Supertest" was an European spec car with the gas particulate filter.

Also it is pointless to compare a Coupe with a Sedan, as the Sedan has a way better coefficient of drag (0.32 vs 0.35, = +9%) and is a lot lighter (85kg). We did quite some testing with customer cars on the German Autobahn. The C63 Sedan is quicker as the C63 Coupe from 100km/h (62mph) to XXXkm/h (62mph).

I would think lots of any .1 or .2 second difference from 0 upwards is due to rear tire widths between the coupe and sedan + the weight.
