I'm still waiting for mine to show up from Georgia...European Delivery folks say the car stays at the VPC from 10 to 20 business days...
Mine has now been released to the transportation company. My salesman is trying to find out which one, and get a solid ETA.

My advice to you is, once your car clears customs, start calling European Delivery to get your car moving!!!

 

I think Superswiss is the only other one i know left on Euro Delivery on the Martorell...hopefully, mine doesn't need another 10-20 business days after arrival.

 

That's correct, I think I'm the only one left with an ED on the Martorell. Chances are your car takes less time at the VPC. ED cars supposedly get thoroughly checked out for any damage incurred while driving in Europe, and they have to be reprogrammed. The ECU and navigation system have to be programmed for the USA. I already know that mine will have to go to the detailer or body shop as I slightly scratched my rear bumper and nicked the right front wheel. The scratch should polish out, but I'm curious what they gonna do about the wheel. Hopefully your car didn't get damaged on the way over here, otherwise it'll have to spend more time at the VPC.

Yep, one drawback is the front plate is mandatory for European Delivery...but the experience was definitely worth it!!!

That's the plan. I was gonna follow up with them as soon as I get the notification about my car having cleared customs. The Martorell should be docked tomorrow morning.

Martorell, DOCKED IN LONG BEACH ...and yet still far away from actual land? Maybe they can't find space at the port yet...?

Yeah, I'm guessing they are waiting on a tug and probably for the dock to become available.

 

Yeah but 6 hours?? I'm thinking the ship was late (it was supposed to arrive at 5am Pacific, but got there at 6:30am) and lost it's spot and got put on the back burner...LA seems to be so slow about everything and everything gets delayed...

 

Based on the original schedule I got from the logistics company they were scheduled to arrive August 7, so they are almost a week late. I'm guessing there are other vessels occupying the auto terminals at the moment. It sat anchored for over 24 hours at the Panama Canal before docking at the port of Balboa as well.

 

oh i didn't notice that at the panama canal. thought it just took forever to get through that area...makes sense then

 

It actually anchored twice there. First to wait its turn to get through the locks and then again on the other end waiting to dock in Balboa.

 

It's also possible they are waiting on a pilot
