Cool vid and thanks for posting. No hate - I do always wonder how being a youtubie allows dudes to purchase cars like it’s cool. I’ve only watched a few of this guys’ uploads but it seems like he is buying high-ends and exotics nearly every episode.
Getting advanced education and working your *** off must be for the birds. I’m getting a YouTube account kids. Remember to like and subscribe or whatever it is I’m supposed to tell you to do.

It’s whatever even if he was being paid by 15 year olds clicking on his uploads, but I am glad to hear there was hard work behind his prosperity.

I work 70-80 hrs a week... if someone got a gig on YouTube and made a name for themselves more power to them!!! If they won the lotto same thing. Shmee sounds like a good guy. If he wasn’t the top collectors in the business wouldn’t let him within a mile of their garage let alone go in it and drive some of their cars. He gets sooo excited and people like that. So don’t be a hater. The guy quit school at 18 and started a successful business.. the YouTube fame was all by chance as he found 2 rare cars and took a video and posted it since they weren’t common on the road at that time a lot of people saw the video looking up those cars. Because of that he got YouTube famous. The guy took risks and won! If we could all be that lucky and know how to work the system as he did we would all be in a better spot.

I'm torn on folks like this. It's one thing to be an enthusiast, to appreciate the cars. But I don't know if some of these guys do - I mean, buy a car then trade it six weeks later to get the next flashy thing? It's just kind of hard for me to respect that and the "content" is the same thing over and over and over. Seeing someone walk around a Cars & Coffee or install a new "exhaust mod" or whatever the countless car YouTubers do is not really compelling content. Maybe I'm just jealous because I didn't buy my first Lamborghini at age 14 with lemonade stand proceeds.
I think there's going to be a lot of pretenders in trouble if/when the bottom falls out of the "YouTuber" life.

The British accent alone give him extra cred. LOL!
I actually like him. He's a real enthusiast who clearly enjoys his work and speaks knowledgeably. I would imagine some might find him annoying, but so far I don't. To me the Youtube videos are important in helping me make a purchasing decision as well as in confirming that I made a good decision.
Has anybody noticed how important social media has become to advertisers of almost everything - particularly the travel industry and fashion? I see so many "notables" with large Facebook or Instagram followings who get free stuff simply because of their influence.

I agree with most of what is said here. YouTube has become a little much for me. There’s one on there that recently bought* a Berlinetta that looks like he has his family in government housing. I cringed so hard I had to turn it off watching him pull that thing up to his house, but they do it for views and the cycle continues. I do think it’s a sign that it’s time for me to pick up a book at night and put the phone down more often...

I can't stand Shmee's voice/accent but if he has a car or subject I'm interested in I will watch a video here and there. Pretty much the same for this next guy with the Berlinetta. I post this video because BrownDog09 mentions he, as we all do, wonder how these guys afford a new car every week. The AMG now Berlinetta guy posted a video where he is very transparent about why he buys his cars and how he affords them. Essentially, the cars provide content for his channel and in turn he can write off their cost as a business expense. Shmee, while he may have made money in real estate (if I remember correctly), does the same thing. All these car channels make money on having these cars. Without the channel, no cars, and without the cars, no channel.
So here is the Berlinetta guy being very candid about how he affords the cars. The whole video is enlightening but around 13:45 he talks numbers.

If I was to start a Youtube channel about automobiles, how would I determine a business use vs a personal use of my cars for tax purposes? This is really a rhetorical question because I have no intention of starting a Youtube channel.
