I have 1,000 miles on my new 2019 AMG C63S coupe. The stock tires are Pilot Super Sport : 255/35/ZR 19 and 285/30/ZR 20 with Forged Cross Spike Wheels (black). I am reading on this site the PS4S are a better choice.? I live in NY and will be changing to a winter tire this Nov. Just looking for some feed back if it's a big difference from the Pilot Super Sport vs. PS4S? re Traction and wet roads?

Thanks

You will have much better traction (wet and dry) on the PS4S. They are also much quieter/softer than the stock tires.

Thanks,

I guess I should stay with the same size on both front and rear?

When I get my car soon, I'll eventually change to PS4S and I will be going wider. I'm not sure how wide you can go on the 19/20 inch rims though. 275 or 285's up front and 295 or 305's on the rears. Anyone know?

Am going to change to PS4S . I HAVE 255/30 zr19 and 285/35/zr20. Will getting wider width really improve handling and will tire change effect warranty? Thanks

If you like spinning your rear tires and having your rear end drift out everytime you turn a corner and step on the throttle, then you won't like the PS4S and the extra 10 mm of width. My car is not tuned and I had all of the aforementioned to an annoying degree. IMHO, MB should discontinue using the PSS as original equipment in favor of the PS4S because of it's much better handling characteristics and traction as made abundantly clear by the many comments here in this forum. Instead, what I got was some kind of disclaimer on my service invoice that the tires are non-standard and may affect the handling and transmission in some non-specific way. Maybe that can be interpreted as a flag, I don't know, but my service advisor said nothing at the time I ordered the tires to make me think going up 10 mm front and back would be a problem.

I went with larger tires on my C63s coupe. I have 265x30x20 on front and 295x30x20 on rear. The car came with staggered 19 front and 20 rear. I added Vorsteiner wheels that provide for wider tires. No spacers needed.

Yes more traction for sure, and the new tires are the Michelin P4s. Nothing better in my opinion.

unless you put drag radials in the rear but then you're sacrificing tire life and wet traction.. choose your poison
