Windows are not tinted and I have a 2017 AMG C63 Black Sedan in TEXAS. Checked around and heard ceramic tint is great, some say it's outdated? I got quotes (for 4 windows & rear) from $159 to $399. Moonshadow in Dallas had good reviews and were on the cheaper side. He told me in Texas by Law 30% is most he can do for Fronts and ANY % for REAR and he said they use WINCOS?
I am really trying to figure out % in Front & Rear and if a certain brand is recommended? I don't want there to be TOO much of a % difference between the Front/Rear where it looks weird. Finally, what about tinting panoramic sunroof as well? Lot's of heat seems to come from there?
In Austin here. Mine is done with 15% all side and rear windows (not entirely legal) - Llumar Ceramic. 80% front windshield (legal) - Llumar Air Blue 80. Pano sunroof is a reflective tint, I think Llumar. Can’t tell it’s reflective and it sure feels like there is virtually no heat penetrating it.
I have Huper Optik Ceramic 30% on sides and rear. Also have the same thing on my wife's X5.
Never had any need to do the windshield, just put up sunshades whenever parked in the sun. Couldn't imagine driving at night with a tinted windshield, even if a higher percentage film.

Looks nice. Tinted windshield at 80% is legal because it’s defined as “clear”. And honestly it is clear. Depending how discerning your eye is, you MIGHT be able to tell a difference. But I doubt it.
Now some kids are stupid and do like 50% or lower. They should be banned.
At Tint Place getting done. I decided to get the Whole Car done as it’s so HOT in TX and I ain’t gonna skimp to save a few hundred bucks.
I am getting WINCOS 20% On Front Driver/Passenger Windows, both Rears, and the Back Glass. 20% is illegal in TX, but Im confident I’ll be able to find a place to pass inspection.
I also got the whole Front Windshield tinted in 75%, what he recommended.
I have the Panoramic Moon Roof with 2 sections of glass and I’m getting those both done too.
I got it mainly for looks, but it should make a Huge Difference in terms of Heat reduction, especially with the extra tint in the Windshield and Roof. The guy at dealership also told me my silver center caps should be black, he’s 3rd person that mentioned it. So I already have black center caps coming.
