3M Crystalline Window Tint

3M Crystalline Window Tint
What tint percentage is legal in California and looks good on a polar white c63s coupe? Crystalline shades are 20/40/50/70. The shop is charging me $800 for all side and rear glass. Is 70% on the front windshield worth it for $450? Please add pictures thanks for the help.

As per the California legal limits, 70% is the lowest you can go for front side windows. No restriction on the back side windows and the rear glass. As for the windshield only the top 4 inches can be tinted.

I'm not sure which part of California you're from. In Bay area (south bay), I was quoted roughly $350 - $400 for ceramic tint on all side and rear windows, irrespective of the percentage.

That place is gouging you for tint. Shouldn’t be more than $350-400 for driver/passenger front and rear as well as the back window. Don’t tint the windshield it will impair visibility at night. I always tint the driver/passenger with 30% and the rear 5 windows and pano roof with 5% to help keep it cooler for the hot summers in nor cal. Any tint on the front driver/pass windows can and will get you pulled over in Cali tho

I wouldn’t be so fast to spread misinformation. 80% is considered to be “invisible”. I wouldn’t go below 80% on the windshield, THEN you will impair visibility. Anyone tinting their windshield at 50% or 30% like I’ve seen around some areas should be put in jail. But 80% is perfectly OK.

You’re looking to reduce heat by applying window tint to the windshield. Crystalline can cut I think about 50% heat and 99% UV.

I was in the window tint business along time ago and 3M Krystaline was always the buzzword for the Ferrari of window tent. Not sure if it's worth it but you'll always pay a premium for that brand. Next thing I'll say is everybody's going to have their own opinion about whether you put any film on the front windshield, but I know many people who will tell you if you ever get in an accident and the other people involved get an attorney who finds out you had window film on your front windshield of any percentage, you will lose quickly. Sorry about the typos, Siri always lets me down a little bit

I had the dealer put on ceramic window tint prior to taking delivery. For the rear window (5%), and front and rear side windows (35%), they charged me $200.
This was for Llumar CTX tint. Apparently, they also have a higher-grade tint (nano-ceramic) that I could have had for an extra $75 but unfortunately I wasn't given that option. Whatever... I'm still pretty happy with what I've got.

Paid $700 for top level Llumar ceramic tint on everything - 25% (net tint with glass) on sides and rear, and clear tint on windshield. Could have found cheaper maybe, but paid a bit more for peace of mind on workmanship.
