REVVING C63 to Get Hot Chics
OK, I HATE to do this, but another SILLY Question/Thread, BUT this is REAL and I have no idea why this is happening, what the reason for programming the car like this, IF indeed it's the computer, and I just wanted to ask WHY? Or if you go try this, if this happens to you guys too? This has happened a few times now, enough to where I KNOW it is happening. This first happened when I wanted to hear my new AWE Track Exhaust note without the car moving fast through the gears and making noise and Never previously shifted into N while the car was moving.I was leaving church a little while ago and I have a buddy working traffic that wanted to hear the exhaust, so as I am Rolling 5-10 mph, I MANUALLY shift the car into "N"eutral with the infamous"Windshield Wiper Gear Changer" and proceed to give her a few Revs with my right foot, but NOTHING happens and no sound at all
It doesn't REV and almost does NOTHING, almost like it's dead. On occasion, it does Rev and RPM's climb up and down like you were revving it in Park. This also happens going faster, like 40-50mph, on the way to work I was trying (wasn't working though) to be cool and was traveling 50 MPH and I shifted briefly into "N," while the car is rolling, REV a few times and the same thing. No sure if this is dependant on speed, or because I took my foot off the gas pedal completely while rolling in Neutral and then gave it gas?
I wanted to TEST it 1 more time before I asked on here so I tried 1 more time rolling toward my house. I went exactly10 MPH in Drive, then foot off Gas rolling, Shift into "N" with Shift Lever, rev the gas 2-3 times and it was DEAD, the engine didn't Rev at all and the RPM's didn't climb, just kind of sat there?
Any Answers? I will try to create a more thrilling topic Next Time, BUT if you ever do want to Rev Your Car while rolling slow, how in the heck can you do it?
Again, it's not like I did this frequently, just a few times. I did it last week initially because I was trying to hear what DRONE I experienced on my exhaust when the rpm's climbed and my car NOT being engaged in Drive. It struck me as strange that my gas pedal basically went NUMB and did nothing.
I just tried it again because of what I mentioned at Church and was curious if it would happen AGAIN. I also thought something could be wrong, but after it happened again and again, I assumed the CAR was programmed that way. However, I wasn't aware Mercedes said NOT to do this and it was potentially BAD for the car. I have a 2017 C63 Sedan, FYI.

So I am not sure if there is an actual technical or mechanical reason to NOT do it, but when I was speaking with some of the AMG folk at a race event, I heard them telling someone in great detail , to NOT DO it..
I have a 2017 C63s Sedan as well...
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...g-neutral.htmlBottom line is, I am NOT doing it AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No reason to if there is even the slightest chance it may hurt the car.
My 01 Vette has a beefed-up RPM built Tranny and I don't do it often, but occasionally I will use the gear shifter and manually shift the car for additional performance, or to down-shift to make the exhaust ROAR, or slow down without illuminating my brake lights when the occasion calls
Sometimes I leave and drive it in 3rd instead of "D" to keep it from going to overdrive and it feels much tighter.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I only attempted this REV Thing a half dozen times, but a few times I WAS able to Rev the car after I put it in Neutral and pressing my Gas Pedal DID Rev the Car, but I must have been doing the right thing, or going the right speed that got around the programming. However, I don't know what I did. I may try it again if the Mood strikes me, I don't think it will hurt anything as long as you don't shift into Drive after revving it. Let the engine's rpm's come down all the way prior to engaging the transmission.
OK, I think we mostly agree on occasion it is FUN to be able to REV the car to get someone's attention or pick up a "Hot Chic"
but Mercedes likely programmed the car so you are Not Allowed to do this. Similar to SOMETHING ELSE I experienced from Mercedes overbearing programming, which I confirmed is normal. I was backing up very slowly and opened my door to look behind me, and the damn car violently snapped into PARK, snapped my neck
and scared the hell out of me. I thought I broke something
These rich people cars are Awesome, but definitely have some unique quirks, but we just have to live with them.On to the Next Mod! At least I have a few things I'm waiting to receive for my AMG, so it feels a little like Christmas. 1. My Updated Eurocharged Stage 2 Tune that better come MONDAY (once you experience driving your car with a Tune, driving with your stock tune feels sluggish, as crazy as it sounds to call any AMG sluggish) 2. AWE Switchpath Exhaust Conversion Kit so I can hopefully drive Droneless 3. And finally I need to find some time, and a good road to do some 1/4 mile runs with my New Dragy. STOCK #'s vs. EC Stage 2 Tuned #'s. I'll be shocked if the Tune doesn't WIN, but I want to SEE it for Myself and Real Numbers and Data is the only way to prove it and it will make me feel better proving to myself my car is REALLY performing better and it's not in my head......................

I HAVEN'T got my $%^&* Tune! I have a buddy at EC who I consider a friend and he's really cool. He's just a messenger though. I called him and he sent an e-mail to the boss. I called and at the end of the day and asked if he had actually physically TALKED to anyone? No was the answer, so he was going to work to speak to him and get back with me via phone when he hears something. I was hoping my Tune Files would magically arrive in my e-mail tonight (9:35pm now), but nope. Oh well, it has to come tomorrow. Tomorrow in Dallas, we have a LOW of 71 in the morning, actually, it gets down to 65 a few days this week and I LOVE driving in Colder Weather.

Guess I am NEVER buying anything from EC !
As a business owner myself, I know when I am out, I tell everyone, I am out... this way the expectation is , "he's out" and I will get back to ya'll when I am back. :-)
Just my opinion ....
I assume that would have stopped the daily calls... or attempts to get an update...
