Rim Options

Does anyone have any idea where I can find some cheaper options for new rims ~ $2-$4k range. I tried searching in this forum but only found higher end "lambo/ferrari" type priced rims. I'm looking for websites where I can see the wheels and prices.

We have a few relationships with companies that have wheels in that range. If you'd like you can give me a call or email and I can show you some options.

Forgot to mention that I'm looking for websites where I can see the wheels and the exact price (other than tirerack, discount tire, ntb). Thanks!

i use get your wheels for specs and pricing as well as fitment industries - between the two they carry just about all non custom ordered wheels there are that fit for these cars.

No prices on the website, no thanks... I don't get why pricing is such a HUGE secret..."oh this guy drives a Ferrari.. lets mark this one up 30% more"

Understandable, however, pricing is consistent regardless of the make and model. An inquiry from a Honda will be quoted the same for someone in a Ferrari.

The F18 above in a similar fitment will run you ~$1990

To some degree, pricing depends on what you want on the wheel - finish, size, offset, stems, color of finish, monoblock vs. two or three piece vs. cast, etc. But, I agree with you, prices could be reflected on the website. Some do such as BC Forged. Others, such as HRE, don't, most likely because the prices would drive people away from making an inquiry.

When I last bought a set of custom monoblock wheels for a Porsche, I found a very large variance in price among brands even though they were all doing essentially the same thing - taking a block of aluminum and cutting out the wheel. The quoted prices ranged from $8k+ to about $3,500 for a set of four, with the only real differences being the design of the wheel and the finish. I also found that most vendors were willing to negotiate a discount if their product would be on display at car shows, cars and coffees, and the like, especially if they didn't sell much in your market area. So, find something you like, make the call, and don't be afraid to negotiate recognizing that it helps to have something to offer in return for the discount. You don't have to tell them what kind of car, just have them quote a wheel in the diameter, width and finish you want. If you get a price you like, then get into offsets, bolt patterns, etc. Just have reasonable expectations.

The price range goes up on what type of wheels you're looking for. Do you want cast wheels? Forged? Flow form? Forged 2 piece? 3 piece? Step lip, hidden hardware, bespoke finish? Etc. etc. There are so many factors that drive up the price of wheels.

Figure out what type of wheels you want before anything else then go looking for that within your price range.

I actually have a new set from Finspeed arriving in a few days and will post photos once I have them mounted. Finspeed makes wheels specifically for track use and race cars. They are super strong and light. I have a set on my wife's GL63 AMG (see the post in that section) and they made a HUGE difference in ride and handling. Our gas mileage increased 30% in town as well!--from an average of 11mpg to 14mpg. Now, the Finspeed wheels shed 19 pounds per corner on the GL and I expect only a few pounds saved for my C63 S but unsprung weight is much more of an issue than unsprung.

Each of their sets is custom made to your fitment unlike most other companies. You may want to give them a call.
