Another crooked steering

Hey fam,
I’m wondering if anyone is having this problem of having a crooked steering when driving on straight roads. Every time after driving on rough/bumpy roads my steering goes off centered to the 11 o’clock position. I went to the dealer to have them check & they come back to tell me the alignment is off. So I get an alignment & steering goes back to centered. After 2 weeks of normal driving, no pot holes just rough/bumpy roads, the steering & alignment goes off again. How long should an alignment last? I had 5 alignment last year alone. Every time I go into the dealer for off center steering and other warranty work. They check the alignment and it’s always off. There’s a slight pull to the right when the steering is off. Could there be something wrong with the suspension, steering rack, ball joint or anything like that? I’ve never had this issues with my other non amg mercedes

What year is your c63? Did dealer install new steering rack for the recall? Just had My 2018 c63 steering rack recall done and now the same problem. Also oversteering and seems like the car is trying to correct the oversteer... Im pissed, tech says perhaps the updates haven't worked. They also said they forgot to adjust the steering wheel. So dumb

Mine is a 2018 63s coupe. There’s steering rack recall? They never mention any kind of recall when I took mine in. I’m pissed as well. Had to took it to several different dealer, they all said the steering is as straight as it can be when they test drove it and said alignment and everything is fine lol. Took it back to the dealer where I purchased the 63s & was told my alignment on all 4 wheel is off

whaaaat we have the same car .. put your vin number into recall search and find out. The recall has been out for a while, however MB is just recently having the steering rack available. what state are you in?

I’m in Ohio. The dealer service department around my area is pretty incompetent. I’m going to search it up & do you mind sharing your service invoice paper or whatever it’s called. Just in case they say that there’s no recall

I put my vin in and it doesn't say anything about recall, but I do see this on cars.com about the recall

by oversteering do you mean the tail kicking out when you apply too much throttle?

Understeer and oversteer. Understeer and oversteer are vehicle dynamics terms used to describe the sensitivity of a vehicle to steering. Simply put, oversteer is what occurs when a car turns (steers) by more than the amount commanded by the driver. Conversely, understeer is what occurs when a car steers less than the amount commanded by the driver.

I will check back with you saturday when I get my car back from dealer...

Meanwhile.. you ask your dealer or dealers who have had your car for more than 4 hours (thats how long it takes to replace steering rack) if they did the recall. Sometimes they do service bulletins and recalls and don't tell you they were done. Maybe thats why it doesn't show up on the search site. Because according to the vin number that means is is not needed any longer So talk later....

Glad to hear your steering is fixed. I haven’t scheduled an appointment yet due to all the snow. Do you mind sharing the work receipt on the steering software update?
