Tire/wheel insurance & prepaid maintenance
Just bought a used 2019 AMG C63S Coupe.....they sold me on the prepaid maint for 3 years as well as 3 years of tire/wheel insurance.
I used to have a M5 BMW and was grateful to have the tire insurance as I went through a ton of tires and couple damaged rims.
Did i get suckered or smart to purchase?

I'm not sure if you're saving anything on the pre-paid maint. I would rather pay when it due for services. As for the tire/wheel insurance, i think you got suckered.
You can alway use your car insurance for wheel damages. I filed 2x for wheels damages in the last 6 years. Both claims was paid.

dont believe my insurance would cover, with no deductible, cosmetic damage to a rim. I’m worried about scrapping up against a curb or pot hole damage.
Are the stock tires costly to replace?

I took the Tire/Wheel package for new 2019 C63S coupe. The package came with a no deductible and unlimited claims. Last month I noticed curb rashes. on 3 rims. I brought to dealership that had it for 2 days and gave me a loaner. Did not cost anything. Wheels came back perfect. I'm super careful now parking. So I think it was a good idea to have taken Tire/Wheel insurance at Dealership. Reassuring that you don't have to pay for it.

It depends what you paid for it and how much you end up using it. Did you lease the car? How long do you plan on keeping the car and how many miles will you put on it during that time? How many sets of tires would it take to pay for the insurance? These are questions you should know the answers to before buying tire insurance. Also, keep in mind that what a dealership charges you for tires and what they pay for them are two different numbers. You will also not have any choice in what tires you get.

good questions..... about what tires though, the dealer did let me pick... i payed the diff from pirelli to Continental on the ml63, treadwear on pirelli about 200 and continental about 500.... worth every penny...

My wife and I had a free tires for life package on a Lexus we owned and never had any choice in what tire the put on the car. It was always the same crappy Dunlop. They also made us run the tires down to the absolute bare minimum tread before they would replace them. I just assumed it would be similar with Mercedes.

Depends on the insurance. I'm usually very against all the dealership "add-ons". But with this car I bought the tire and wheel insurance, and we all know how expensive they are. It covers any tire or wheel. No deductible. Just a week ago had to replace one tire and it was almost 25% of the cost of the insurance. I went with 5 years coverage.

Probably set a near record for fastest curb rash. Took Euro delivery in Sindelfingen (outside Stuttgart) and drove to Kutna Hura (outside Prague) the next day. Despite my best efforts parking the car I did minor damage to both driver's side wheels (narrow, one-way village streets -- unless you have driven in Europe, do not judge).
Unlike some owners, I did not cry. I just reflected on how bad the results would have looked if I had opted for the black wheels ($$$). The only "aesthetic" option on this car was $720 for blue paint (rather than basic white, black, or silver), which says something about my personality and priorities. When I took delivery there were no "extra coverage" options, so I was very pleasantly surprised when I got the car from my U.S. dealer and the wheels (apparently all 4) had been replaced by MBZ's SoCal Vehicle Preparation Center!
Hint, if you do pop for an extra coverage insurance/service option, there is a sub-forum here that goes into finding and negotiating discounts.

i dont think you got suckered with the wheel tire. prepaid maintenance, i personally opted out of.
i live in NYC and the wheel tire insurance was a must for me. was able to really haggle the price down with my salesman
