Question downpipes + exhaust advice?

What exhausts are you guys preferring?

My requirements:

1. I am looking only for 3" ceramic coated downpipes.
2. Milltek on my Audi RS6 (V8) sounds great. I do like raw and loudest exhaust possible.
3. How bad is CATTED downpipe for this loudness of the sound? I do not like the smell of the CATLESS one, so wonder if CATTED will kill the sound so much that I would drop it, in favor of the sound from a CATLESS one.

The problem is that I am not able to feel the difference between exhausts for C63S just by viewing Youtube videos. Can you help?

downpipes are meh especially because of that smell issue and imo they make the car sound more raspy than throaty. You should only be considering downpipes if youre looking for stage 2 tune, turbo upgrades etc

if its just a loud exhaust you want, forget downpipes and look in to AWE Track exhaust.

Catted downpipes are still LOUD. I'd say about 95% as loud as catless.... at least with Gesi cats, which I have. Trust me... it's not quiet unless in comfort.

DP are the best way to go to gain Power and sound. Leave the rest of the exhaust as is. trust me. The smell is not there as our cars run very efficient

oh, the smell does not depend on whether the car is efficient or not. if you delete primary and secondary cats - the smell will always be there.

I have catless DPs and AWE track exhaust, it depends on the person but I love it. It's still tame under normal driving in comfort, and in S+ at WOT it is hellishly loud. No smell from the car, like my past catless setups on other cars, even the M157 E63 had some smell to it, this one has none.

It depends on how you are driving. In comfort mode you will not smell anything. If you are driving spiritedly and come to a quick stop, the air behind the car is still moving forward. With the windows down this would be one of the only times you smell anything. I have a cattle's C63S sedan and that has been my experience. Overall minimal amounts of added smell.

I would sound not too much different than stock PE. If I had to choose, I'd rather do catless DPs with stock exhaust versus AWE track with stock downpipes for sound. The downpipes are the key for sound and amplified burbles/bangs-pops.

wrong. how can an exhaust with no mufflers sound pretty much the same as one with mufflers? It makes a very noticeable difference.

I have no secondary cats, have the valved H and then straight pipe all the way to rear that jumps up to 3" (much like awe track setup). Its pretty loud and deep at idle and it is louder all together but it's not very loud by my standard. The car never sounds like it's opening up when you're getting on it, if that makes sense. For me, it's quite loud and and a bit obnoxious at low speeds, like when parking/driving through parking lots or idling, but getting on the gas it's almost muted sounded. Don't get me wrong it sounds awesome and is prob loud by most people's standard. I wish I stayed stock and just did catless DP, those cars seem to really scream at WOT.

I'd like to hear that combo, have any videos? And did you ever have just the track exhaust on at one time to compare how it sounded when added the dp?

found these - they look great (without coating though) - and the shop explains that they go from 84 mm after turbos to 76mm, which is cool.

the shop says renntech's & weistec go quicker to 70mm.
