ASR Module Question for 2019+ Owners. Help is greatly appreciated!

Hello family,

Can any 2019+ owners chime in with their thoughts on the ASR module?

i have been doing lots of research on the topic but cant find anything too concrete. my car is almost at break in and have been thinking whether to go tune and downpipes, but to be very honest, i am over my modding days a bit and do not have the patience for going back and forth to the dealer if things go sour. i just dont want the headache. also, after hearing a few friends cars with DP's it does change the stock sound (yes it makes it louder) but it loses that AMG rumble and i dont want that.

does anyone have any experience with the ASR modules? do they work? is it enough to make you content with your car? worst case scenario i will fork over the $ and go full renntech so it makes me feel more comfortable if i do tune and downpipes but would like to avoid that as it really is quite a pretty penny.

please advise!

Best thing I've ever done. Only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. It more than doubles the sound at idle alone and makes the exhaust sound way deeper.

You really notice the difference driving around. Obviously no change at 4K+. And you can make the exhaust revert to normal operation at the push of button, which is useful for going to the dealer or longer road trips.

It is a huge difference on the outside. You can test live close, stock “open,” and fully open and it is for sure over 2x louder as stock “open” is very quiet

Make no mistake in terms of absolute volume, fully open is still quieter than any an aftermarket full exhaust system. But it is a very happy medium for me and for $400 it’s a no brainer. Everyone should do this

on the inside, don’t expect any louder than what it sounds like when you go WOT as that’s the fully open valve

I got mine from Automotive Passion... couple of reports here that they are shady. I can’t complain since I received mine fine, but will note that they took some time to actually ship (they had to buy it from ASR Germany first) and the box arrived very damaged from lack of adequate interior cushioning

I've been thinking about getting this too.

I contacted Daniel at ASR Germany, they won't sell to US anymore, directed me to Renntech who charge $620 for it.

Automotive Passion seems like the next best option at GBP 295 but charge GBP 50 for shipping to USA.

I've had mine from Renntech for about 10 days now and can say I'm happy with every dollar spent.

I ordered my Active Valve Control module from Renntech for $620, it'll arrive Friday but I won't be able to install it because my 2020 C63s Coupe is getting a full PPF, cermaic coating as well as window tint with crystalline tint which will take at least a week. What's nice about the sound module is it won't give you any error codes and with a click of a button you can revert it to stock.

Mate just do it. Best bang for buck without any risks (e.g. CEL).

Refer to thread below:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...r-modules.html

My previous comments:
  • Comfort mode: Standard (Module not installed) with exhaust on I was getting between 63-65dB
  • Comfort mode: Module installed with exhaust on I was getting between 71-72dB which is a significant increase.
  • Readings were done during idle and car was already at normal operating temperature.

I ordered mine from Renntech and do not regret it at all. Sound is a lot louder at idle and under 4K rpm like others have said. I tried ordering from Thomas at Automotive Passion and they tried to scam me

Is it louder when you rev in park as well?

Yes it is

The Renntech module is the exact same thing as the ASR module by the way. Just with $200 extra tax for the Renntech logo

I think the renntech version gives you the remote control though so you can revert completely to stock with the push of a button. The ASR is controlled with the exhaust button that's inside the car.

The ASR comes with 1 remote and a 2nd one can be ordered for an extra 15 Euros. The Renntech one comes with 2 remotes.

The ASR has the remote control as well. Exact same one actually without the Renntech logo.

ASR version also gives you the option to permanently close the valves too (3rd button on the control), but this is a bit useless as closed valves under heavy load is bad for the engine.

When I got my ASR, it came with both remotes btw.
