Carbon steering wheel trim and paddles -- great mods

I've always been a big fan of mods that improve the things you touch in a car: short shifters, better steering wheels, etc. It's by far the best bang for buck to change the feel of a car in any driving circumstance. So I looked at some aftermarket steering wheels from the likes of Carbontastic and others, but using the stock wheel it just doesn't seem worth it to me. If it were thicker and/or smaller diameter I probably would have. Instead, I went with some carbon trim pieces from Autotecknic. I'm super happy with how it turned out and the larger paddles feel wayyyyyy more supercar-esque than the stock ones. Worth every penny.

After

They look great

I've also been looking at them, how easy are they to fit? I'm guessing you need to take the wheel off?

You do not need to take the wheel off. I did it in a target parking lot haha. Just remove the airbag and unscrew the trim and it all pops off. You can remove the paddles without removing the wheel too, just make sure the wheel is in a good position and the seat is all the way back before you unhook the battery. The only part that isn't straightfoward is popping the airbag out. You have to stick a thin screwdriver in the little dimples on the side of the steering wheel and push a button in on each side to pop it out. I would recommend you turn the wheel 90 degrees before unhooking the batter so one paddle is on top, one is on the bottom. This way you're not impeded by the stalks on either side.

It took me about 40 mins total. I think it's going to look amazing when I clean the alcantara. It should have come this way from the factory.

Here's a better, daytime shot. Honestly amazed how improved the interior is with these small pieces. Even the back of the paddles feel sportier and more modern.

Yes, exactly. They don't come with any instructions, feel free to PM me if you get stuck. The paddles are well worth it, they feel way more appropriate for a sports car.
