Made an offer on those same wheels

I made a very low offer because it was clear that these wheels would not fit the w212 e63 wagon I have without a bunch of messing with my car. The previous seller had clearly destroyed the tires on his c and until I let him know, he was not even sure of the offset of the wheel he was selling and the tire size was wrong for the wheel. I think our cars are too nice to roll fenders, crack paint, and destroy bushings.

I know you probably got these for next to nothing but like most said, your true cost will be very high. I’d pass them on

HREs for that price are not bad! i like these rims and spoke to Vossen directly about pricing them out. was a super high cost so i went for these instead. you got a good buy tho nice work man!

yeah i feel you man. he didnt know the offsets but i dug in with him and managed to get everything i needed. was very helpful for these through the entire process of shipping them too. and yeah our cars are too nice to do so many body modifications to them. once i measure stuff if theres a feeling of cracking or too much to ruin a line and im not confident in them... i wouldn't do it. right now its just taking a good look at my options since i love the wheels in general and beleive i can make it work. thats right now tho...i may feel far different after i try the process LOL. thanks for the feedback (love the e63 wagons too...i waiting for 6 months for the new one to become available here before finally giving up and just buying a GLC43 for winter driving... was going to trade the c63 for the wagon)

Man you really like that wheels, huh? Like they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. You got a great deal on the wheels but it look like you’re going to spend a lot more $$$$ after you done. Shaving it down reduced the mass of the wheel, will that weaken the wheel? Good luck man.

nope i spoke to the shop. theyre highly rated do a lot of high end cars and only 5mm on the bore isnt big at all. also its not expensive at all to get it done. the repainting (cos i just want a specific colour) is the pricey part.

This is the first time I heard about the shaving. How long for the job per wheel and cost?

No problem, I always try to save someone a hassle if I can. I’m surprised he did not have that info because it was well researched and I gave him the info, like three months ago. I think the wheels are beautiful, just not turnkey enough imo. I’d hate to change the dynamics of the car for the asthmatics. As we all know, stretching the tires lower wear and safety at speed and expose the rim edges to curbs and potholes. It becomes a very expensive fashion experiment that never works and causes lots of anxiety for us car lovers.

good luck. The post is not meant to dissuade you but to help you know that all of us here think these cars can look even better when done right and safely.

its not super expensive. gonna be about $1000 CAD all in with new paint too. i've heard of shaving the bore too just never looked into it. done a lot of reading now on it and advice and its perfectly safe. ill have the wheels back in a week or 2. the shop is 1.5 hours from my house so i might be delayed getting them back lol

So I got the tires on and 3mm shaved off the rim. Rims painted a custom gold now.

Fits alot better with a minor adjustment. when bouncing on the rear and loading the car with alot of weight it sits pretty much the same as in the pics. if i hit a pothole going fast itll come in contact with fender. so im working on rolling fenders shortly. cars not going on road for another month anyways i think. Happy with the results and wanted to share!

I'll post a before and after on the fender roll too.

The only way I would buy a set of wheels is they'd have to be hub centric. No rings!

295s on... fitment is as close as can possibly be. super minor rubbing on dips in road. no damage to tires or fender. but i will shave off a mm or 2 on the inner fender lip

haha its as thick as can possibly be right now. wider tires def help grip better. launches are harder too. 4.3 0-60 will work on improving that. and 12.4 1/4 mile.

Hi friend . I just made an order for a Bc forged in 20. Now that I have seen your opinion I am afraid that they will not fit me well with rubber from 285/30/20 back. I have ordered the following dimensions. 9.5j / 35et. Forward and 10.5j / 55et. behind . Do you think they are going to enter me or can I call quickly to make a change if I still can! my car is lowered with kw has. thanks

here is my fitment with 10.5+57 and 285/30-20 before lowering. +55 will be 2mm closer to fender. Lowering will add some small camber helping with fitment under fender.

in those photos it looks very good, yes. I will leave it like that at + 55 I think it will look good and will not hit. I will ask for a better 285/25 to be calm. Inside is not going to touch the tire? I mounted about 285 on the 19 series tires and after 3 hours I had to change them and go back to the standard ones because they stuck me inside.

no issues for me on 285/30 with 57 offset. 55 will be 2mm further away from suspension. 25 profile will just reduce your overall diameter and it’s pretty harsh. 285/30 are pretty close to OEM diameter, little bigger.
