Looks like the piece of rubber that protrudes down from the lip

It's definitely dislodged and torn out as you can see from the ripped hole in picture #2

This^
Most likely was parked over a parking stop in one of the spaces and when backed up it caught and ripped out.

Looks like the rubber flap got caught on a curb stop rebar and ripped it.

Ok, so it hangs down already, might not be too bad to replace then. I think I've seen it now it's been mentioned

these are easy to catch on parking curbs, and are IMO a wear and tear item. Had to replace them after a while on every car ive owned recently. In fact I alresdy have a piece missing from my C63 lol. I never pull too far to catch this rubber on the curb myself , im very careful about it. Think its just that flimsy or prior owner did it and i didnt notice when buying.

Not sure on these cars if its a separate piece thats easy to iñstall, or is attached to under tray.

honestly i cannot tell you how much of a lifesaver it is. the coupe with the aero package makes it a nightmare to park places but the front camera has saved me numerous times. it might be more useful than the backup camera.... lol

You let your wife drive your C63? Silly rabbit !!! I've sat and watched dozens of women "park" their cars by pulling forward until their tires hit the curb, often accompanied by the sounds of the front bumper/undertray scraping along the curb or sidewalk. Apparently they don't think the car is far enough into the space until the front tires hit something and/or the car stops rolling. I often wonder if the curb wasn't there if they would actually end up parked inside the nail salon or cafe. The only thing better is watching them leave, as the curb rips away parts of the bumper or front lip/undertray while they are totally oblivious to all the damage. Of course she denies it. She has no idea it even happened.

Thought you meant dash cam. I've got the 360 cam, think I'll get the blackvue 900 fitted, so I can access it remotely.

She has a little beater (Mazda 2) for the school run and general running about, only uses the merc for longer trips and going out with the kids to church, parties etc. Got it booked in for a service next week, so will get it fixed at the same time.

I'll get her Mazda traded up for something better this summer, so she won't need to use it!

Booked the annual service for today, after my wife sent me the pics. Told the guy about the flap hanging off that booked it in, who replied with assurances that the car would be inspected and reported if any defects found.

Called my wife to ask if it got fixed, they didn't even notice it, let alone give it a mention.

Think I'll go elsewhere for servicing. What pathetic attention to detail.

its the rubber that attaches to the lower shield on the ft bumper cover ...more worrisome would be the fact an oil cooler is just above it and if the impact was hard enough it can damage the cooler

I was already at 3 months when I posted! Left the UK January 3rd, pandemic hit just as I was going home. Choice was go home and sit on my **** in lockdown or keep working and keep earning...

My youngest wasn't even walking when I left, she'll have no idea who I am! 😂

Aye, hanging onto employment in oil and gas, tough times at the moment, so making hay while the sun is shining. Got the rest of the year off bar a meeting or two, but I've missed the summer driving weather :-(

Finally got it replaced, it's a 2.4mm x 40mm strip hanging off the undertray, held on with tri-fold rivets. I bought a 3mm x 40mm (1m length) off eBay and cut the shape.

Added some washers and spayed with rust inhibitor.
