Largest sized wheel and tire for 18 inch!

For a w205 c63 Sedan!
Can anybody tell me the largest size for wheels and tires setup that will fit on stock suspensions?
Summer's coming and i need to get rid of my winter tires; might as well get some wheels too.
I need more traction, so I'd like to go as wide as possible.
I live in Nyc and the roads are horrific here, therefore I would like to run 18 inch wheels. Personally i like a really meaty look.

So from my research it seems that people are fitting 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 and 265/30 - 295/30 with a really high offset in the rear like 56+ or higher ( which needs to be custom ordered and forged for the strength )
Would 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 with 265/35 - 295/35 be the same? Will this clear the inner suspensions even though in the barrel is smaller?

If sombody can clarify the offsets they're running on their 10.5 in the rear and up front, it would be very appreciated!

Post your car with pictures, and any suggestions on wheels will be greatly appreciated!
If you're running 18's I beg that you share your info with me;
I am sweating just thinking about driving on my winters any longer.
Also if i buy new tire pressure sensors and install them will they work just as is? or would they have to be connected to the car or something? I do not want to remove the tire pressure sensors from my winter setup!

My friends, i am seeking your expertise and knowledge. Give me everything you can come up with!

Pete, would you happen to know the part numbers for those 18x10.5” wheels? I’m looking for a spare set of rear wheels to mount some drag radials on and these would be perfect for an OEM option.

OP asked about sedan fitment, and thats a coupe ... which run different rear offsets than the sedan.

Any Size Will Fit If You’re Willing To Use A Saw

C63 Sedan Wheels Only!

With stock wheels on C63 AMG W205 Sedan you can use 255/40ZR18 front and 275/40ZR18 rear.

If you want to use aftermarket wheels you have many options.

Front wheels:
9.5 inch at ET+30 with 265
Runs fine with no modification.

I have 19x9.5 ET+30 & 265/35ZR19.

265/35ZR19 & 265/40ZR18 are the same diameter.

*people have said 10 inch at ET+25 works but there’s some wheel poke. For 275’s on the front.

Rear wheels:

People have stated they run 305 on 10.5 inch wide wheels. I didn’t want to put 305 on 10.5 inch wheel. Rear wheels, 11 inch wide requires some modification, wider than 11 inch wheels requires significant modification.

I have 20x11 ET+55 with 12mm spacer. Final ET+43
Which required slight modification to the rear fenders. I was thinking of trying 8mm spacers to pull the wheels in slightly, 10mm spacers would definitely work.

Thus, I can say 18x11 ET+45 should be fine with either 295/35ZR18 or 305/35ZR18. It is recommended the rear wheels be larger diameter for better handling. That is what was recommended to me.

18 inch wheels there’s only 1 option.
Nitto NT01 265/40R18 & 305/35R18

Moving up to 19 inch front wheel there’s plenty of tires to choose from. Choices disappear trying to fit 20 inch up front so that’s why I went with 19/20 setup like the coupe.

The handling is great, far superior to stock. The verdict is still out on cutting a slit inside the rear wheel wells to add an extra inch or more. It requires a couple of relief cuts on the outside. Some welding and a little fill work to make it perfect. I talked to the custom shop in Orlando about doing it. The work is a little expensive compared to the value of the car. He gave the project a shoulder shrug because I pulled the fender enough that it doesn’t rub. It works so there’s not much need to change it more. He suggested I just take a saw to it and weld it up myself, because I seem to have a good idea of what needs to be done.

Best of luck with the mods.

fml.. learned the hard way and now I’m selling my 18” set due to not clearing the red caliper c63s

I was told most aftermarket wheels are not going to fit the big front brake caliper- Even with 19s. Some people choose 19/18 combination to run meatier tires in the back.

As I stated 20x11 ET+45 is perfect fitment on the rear with 295/30ZR20 if you are willing to (roll and pull) reshape the rear fender.

265/35ZR19 & 305/30ZR19 the front wheel has a larger rolling diameter. For proper physics the rear wheel is going to have a larger diameter, 19x12 with 325/30ZR19. Otherwise 19/20 staggered setup, 295/30ZR20 has the best matching diameter, 305/30ZR20 would likely make the car slightly slower due to increased rolling diameter. I might try a 305s anyway.

Wider tires fix the performance issues with this car.

You know that yellow traction control light that flashes when you lay down on the gas pedal- I don’t have that anymore.
