Dig Race Help

Hello Everyone,

I recently had a fun little dig race with my buddy's stock 2012 E63. For some reason he spanked me every time and he was surprised as well since I am running stage 1 DME tune. Clearly my problem was hooking, but I am running P4S's and they help a lot better than stock tires. I do mash the peddle every time we would go and I'm pretty sure i'm doing it wrong. Do you have to baby the pedal to prevent spinning all the way to third? Also what RPM's do you guys usually shift. I let the car shift on its own in Sports Plus.

good luck with that.. this car is a lot of fun but def not meant for any kind of races from a dig especially with a tune

Easy.....you need a drag radial...MT ET S/S, hoosier radials, etc.

True story: Out in Baytown, Tx there is a drag strip (O'Reilly Speedway?). Used to run the IHRA stuff there years ago. Anyway, one Sunday, we hear it's 'Family Day'. Overcast day and they had treated the track. Super sticky. So my wife driving a 2009 C63 AMG sedan w/P1,2 Pkg's, my son driving a tricked out 09 Mustang Bullet and I was driving a Shelby GT500 decide to compete with each other that day. My son had the best time. Why? On the way there, he stopped off at a friend's house and mounted the guy's racing tires! Cheater..

Found out later he literally had bent all 10 wheel studs from the torque. The problem with the wife's time of around 12.7 secs was due to her not knowing how to turn off the TC. The car was fighting her to stay hooked up and being in the right gear.

Sounds like I need to go back to R888R's. My buddies were telling me I should of break boosted and shifted the car on my own. I also mashed the pedal so that's a big no no with these cars.

mickey thompson et streets are the way to go, get them nice and hot and try not to sit on you LC too long. or if you practice leaving off of the footbrake
