If I had to guess, I would say it functions just like any flap that guards against rocks from jumping up and damaging things. There is I believe a heat exchanger that is downward facing around that area and has holes in the under tray which rocks can potentially jump up and hit it...That's my assumption anyways.

Those are spoilers and help to make sure the air passes smoothly underneath the car for maximum downforce. There's at least one more set further back if you look under the car.

Gotcha! Thanks Swiss..... One of mine is in bad shape from a cement parking block and is partially cracked, can these be replaced or are they a part of the whole plastic undertray??

Swiss knows his sh*t.

Some goose on Insta attention gram said when those little flaps hit a speed hump they send a signal to the car and it adjusts the suspension to prevent the nose from scraping further. Who was that again @George_1992 ??

Yes, they can be replaced. They are L-shaped and attached to the undertray with 5 screws (if I counted correctly). Should be very easy to replace. You can feel and see the screw heads. Those are common casualties when scraping somewhere, along with the front splitter on the FL aero package. These things are all designed to be easily replaced. I already had to replace my front splitter once. It also just screws on to the bumper.
