Stuck in Park?

Hey, I have a 2018 AMG C63s Coupe that wouldn't move forward or reverse even though shifting indicated gear (D, R, N) without any warning notices. Also couldn't physically push it at all in neutral. MBUSA tech suggested locking and unlocking vehicle 3 times to reset or reboot electronics - that didn't work. Tow guy came and said it was "locked up" and revved the engine quite a bit more than I tried and "popped" it into reverse.

Drives absolutely fine now.

Anything I should worry about?

In case it matters, car was parked in the garage, not on a hill, and had not been sitting too long.

one time at a stop light... I'm not sure if i had pressed to hard on the brake pedal or what not, but when the light turned green i took my foot of the brake and i wasn't moving or going anywhere. I tried to tape the pedal and it was almost in a locked position and i could not apply any pressure to it. After a second i tried to push the brake pedal again and it released. Not sure if this is some sort of lazy don't want to keep your foot on the pedal or a weird little glitch. Only happened that one time.

What you experienced is normal. It the feature holding your brake for you at a stop so you can rest your leg😀. Just hit the gas paddle and the brake will release and start moving

Man I am glad you said something...I thought that's what he was referring to...guess he didn't realize it had this feature. I think it also lights up the word HOLD in the center of your gauges???

Did it by any chance rain the day before or did you go through a car wash. In other words, is it possible you parked it with wet brakes. It can happen that the rear brake pads seize to the rotor when they are wet and the car is parked that way with the parking brake on. Has happened to me. Give it enough throttle and it usually brakes free with a bit of a jarring noise. Not that uncommon. To avoid it, I always go for a drive after washing the car to dry the brakes. Generally after driving in the rain it shouldn't be too much of an issue, because the brakes periodically wipe themselves, but it can still happen.

Much appreciated...
