I think that would be giving them a bit away. A good set should typically run 50-60% of retail for just the rims w/o tires and TPMS. Also, don’t compare to a standard mono block forged, most are heavier than the OEM AMG forged at 21lbs for the 19” rims.

just sharing my opinion as you asked the forum - ex you can get a forged set of Vossen's for $550 a wheel and $1K for tires - just comparing is all - $2500 and you may be sitting on them for a while - i hope you can squeeze someone for more -

i get it. I wasn’t trying to say you were lowballing specifically, nor did i mean any offense. Just was a bit surprised by the reply but when you put it like that, it makes sense.

Sure, flow form is not a forged wheel while the AMG cross-spoke upgraded wheels are indeed forged wheels. Flow form is more less an upgraded version of a cast wheel where the center of the wheel is cast, but less material/thinner making it lighter to form the eventual wheel. However, that also causes flow form wheels to be more susceptible to cracking. Its lighter than cast but has less strength than forged. So, not to compare with a forged wheels (AMG cross-spoke upgrade wheels are monoblock forged wheels - note: Not all AMG wheels are forged!). Actually flow formed wheels are often called flow forged...but they have nothing to do with a forging.
PS: to make maters worse Vossen calls the flow form wheels "Hybrid Forged" Series....but has nothing to do with forging. Other wheel makers have come up with other misleading names.
In order of strength of the wheel, it goes:
low: Cast
med: Flow formed/ Flow forged/etc.
high: Forged
Really there is nothing wrong with cast wheels or flow forged wheels, you just are more susceptible to bending if you hit a rock or badd pothole. Also you should not take cast wheels onto a race track with a heavy car or lots of lateral loading, they are not strong enough for that .

That's very unfortunate - are these the cross-spoke? The second pic looks weird...not sure what am I looking at what looks like previous repair work? I just hit a massive pot hole with my BC forged and was expecting to see some damage...but nothing I can find.
To my layman's eye, that cracked rim looks like it happened where some previous repair was done. Notice what looks like splatters from the re Weld, and the uneven texture of the metal on either side of the crack on the lip?
