What does a TCU Tune do for you?

 

• 20-30% increase in TCU TQ limits (customizable)
• Increased line pressure
• Increased hold pressure
• Increased clutch clamping
• Faster shift speed

• 0.1 sec decrease in the 60ft time down to 1.7 seconds
• 0.2 sec decrease in ¼ mile
• 0.3 sec decrease in the 0 to 60 time down to 2.7 seconds!

 

What car do you get those times? You mean 3.7s?

 

He's posting data from the AWD W212 E63S platform... there is no W205 C63S TCU performance data posted on this forum as far as I'm aware.

I've only seen results from a few AWD/9-speed GLC63's (on Instagram), but mostly all results are from 7-speed W212 E63S AWD models.

 

I have seen some of these on IG etc but even on E63s I am more than skeptical about a < 3 second claim. Not happening with a TCU tune...

 

Would be quite useful to have data on this platform... 0-60 in these cars are all about grip/rear tires. A TCU tune I doubt will dramatically drop 0-60 with our RWD. Interested to see if any time is shaved off between shifts for quicker quarter mile times or 60-130 mph, etc. on a 7-speed and 9-speed W205 C63S.

 

From Reading this , and if I am reading it correctly, its 2 different statements. 1) EC is happy to say they have a OBD for 2020 ECU tunes... and 2) they are offering the same ole TCU tune, as they did prior...

I doubt this is being done via OBD port (The TCU tune that is)

nope. you are wrong. ec is offering TCU tune as well via OBD!

 

TCU tunes have been done via OBD for a while. EC and other tuners now have a newer method to where you don't need a laptop to be sent to you and can all be done at home.

 

correct guys, both ecu and tcu tuning is now done with our tools from home via OBD

So I know what an ECU tune does but what does a TCU tune do?

 

In a nutshell, it allows you to apply more torque to the ground by raising the OEM transmission torque limits, and increases line/clamping pressure for (supposedly) quicker shifts.

Unfortunately, there is no data publicly available on how a TCU performs on a W205 C63S. Only on older chassis like the W212 E63 with AWD that can take advantage of unlocking more torque in lower gears (for better launches and acceleration).
