Jerky Stop

Could be a complete noob question, but in Sport Mode when coming to a complete stop, my car lurches forward a little bit from time to time. It doesn't always happen, which is why it bothers me. It only happens in Sport and Sport +. Is this normal? What is the purpose?

This car is known for jerkyness/bunny hopping. Its just how this sports oriented transmission works. Its normal for this car so no worries 👍 🏎💨💨💨

Are you sure you're not feeling the car downshift from 2nd to 1st? In comfort mode, the gearbox starts in second gear so when coming to a full stop it will not downshift into 1st like it does in Sport/Sport+/Race mode. It could also be how the transmission/TCU adapted to your driving style that causes an abrupt downshift to 1st, I believe you can reset the adaptations if that's the case.

Yeah I believe it's just the aggressive downshifting in those modes to keep the rpm high. It sort of works like engine breaking, that's the reason you felt jerky.

To avoid this as much as possible, try gently lift the throttle to have car slow down, instead of lift it completely at once. IMO jerky is just that throttle response when you don't want it.

Its definitely not downshifting, I'm in 1st when I stop. It's the instant that I stop moving, the car bumps forward a little bit. Immediately once I come to a full stop.

That seems a little unusual, do you have the pre-facelift or facelift? With the PFL 7-speed I haven’t had any issues like that when coming to a stop in 1st gear. You may want to bring it to the dealer so they can check your ECU/TCU software for updates assuming you’re under warranty.

It's a PFL. I'm still inside my warranty for the next few months, so I'll probably take it in to get checked out.

I have a tight spot parking my car in my garage. I've learned to feather the brake and account for a slight lurch right before I come to a complete stop. It's like as if the car downshifts and catches a gear right before it stops, but I'm in first gear.

You're 100% running the older software. This is exactly how the cars would perform prior to the big update so you'll need the transmission & exhaust software update for the prefacelifts from your dealer. See this post here: C63S Official exhaust/transmission software update for the list of changes you'll notice after you get your software updated 👍
