Anyone have experience with these? Currently have pure 900 and looking to upgrade.

I don't have experience with Pure 1,000 turbos but am interested like you.

What kind of power (whp) are you putting down with the 900 turbos now (what other mods?) and how much more would you be expecting from the 1000 turbos?

I’m 680whp on race gas with downpipes, bms intake, DME tune. On their site it is showing 800+ whp on pure 1000 and it is the same price that my pure 900 was

Man those are really good numbers...don't you already have problems getting the power to the ground?

I have Weistec DP's, BMC drop in filters and a Weistec Stage 2 tune on Race fuel and I am 560whp 580tq and it is tricky getting the power down...a lot of pedaling LOL

But like you...I am looking for more POWER. I enjoy 1/2 mile racing and the stock turbos just lack the power at the upper end...bigger turbos would give me more top end speed.

Good luck with whatever you decide and I will be following to see how it goes.

I’m running 285 up front and 325 on rear on 12’ wheels out back. Traction isn’t extremely bad but the pure turbos don’t add the power I was hoping for on top end as well.

Are either of you guys on a custom tune and/or have any fueling mods?
at this point, I'm struggling to find consistency regarding stock to turbo capability (which seems to be very limited) vs the 900s.
While 680 whp isn't anything to sneeze at, it seems as though there should be more to be had with fueling supplementation and/or custom street/Dyno tuning with the 900s..?
For reference, there are tons of guys in the ats v (what I came from) community at or above 600whp on stock snails. Granted, they have fuel cam upgrades and either meth or E blends. But damn, I guess compared to those turbos, our stockers must really suck.

Pure turbos

I’ve had the pure 800”s and 900”s and now run the YP4 turbos , You can’t beat the pure range for the plug and play and there isn't a huge change in drivability , with the YP4”s there’s nothing then you hit 4000rpm and all hell breaks loose. Would be interested to see how you guys get on if you do go for the Pure 1000”s

Hey zipzap, would be great to hear more about your experiences. Took a quick look into your profile but didn't see any build log threads or anything, please consider starting one! Was definitely interested in going PTG route but no boost until 4k doesn't sound great. Do you have any further data on the YP4's (PTG)? Did you retune between turbo swaps? Are you running meth? TCU tune? Much appreciated.

I don’t post up a lot , I’m still trying to get my car finished before putting up a build thread.
Don’t get my wrong the PTG turbos are great , but there is a big difference in drivability between the Pure 900”s and them. 4000rpm is full boost with PTG turbos so it’s not that bad but you definitely notice it if your used to stock frame turbos. I’m running water meth, Spool upgraded fuel pumps, Weistec trans and air filters and the YP4 (PTG) turbos , I’m hoping to have the tune finished by the 20th of this month so will let you know how I get on ( using golabworx)
maybe reach out to a tuner and get their opinion as these guys do these things daily so can tell you what they think, my tuner preferred the Pures over the YP4!

I'm indecisive between the pure1000 and the ptg1000. keep us informed about your build! where you located?

As a highly modified C63S sedan, I can’t recommend installing intakes enough. BlackBoost is a great option and on top of a super easy install, it relieved the asthmatic nature of upper RPM‘s.

Turbos are the last mod for me. In order for any of the aforementioned to translate into streetable power, the torque limitations in the TCU must be overcome. Aka, a TCU tune.

I'm curious, at 700hp and beyond, doesn't it become quite difficult to get the power down without wider tires and/or other upgrades?
