Where to move? M550i? M5?

Hi, I had C300 since 2015, then upgraded for C63 sedan in 2018, did tune in 2020. Doing 40 000km/year I am now clocking 100000km with C63. Its my DD. For fun I have different cars.

Planning to buy M550i (v8, more comfort, more space) or M5(probably too harsh compared to 550i). Also considering Panamera.

What do you think?

Seconded. E63S only.

But knowing that your mind is already made up and you're going to be buying a BMW, get the M5 only. Honestly, M550i's don't have that wow factor, especially compared to an M5.

EDIT: Are you keeping the C63?

Why not a Porsche 911?

I had planned to sell my 911, after getting my C63s, but they're very different cars (particularly since the latter is a cabrio). I'm finding that they're sufficiently different as to be complementary. Or at least, that's how I'm rationalizing it.

Because I have family. One Kid, so sedan still OK. 911 is great DD but too small.

I bought a Mazda CX-5 to commute in and keep the C63 Cabriolet as a weekend car. I don’t care about appearances and the Mazda is a decent daily driver. Plus the roads I drive on are pretty bad so I’m not beating up the suspension and chassis on my expensive German car every single day. And with the way the C63 goes through tires and brakes the commuter car almost pays for itself.

My daily commute is 80% Highway where I do daily 260+kmh, just for fun, when its little traffic. I also spent 90% of my driving time in my DD s going for something less power full / boring is no option.

I came from an M5. Highly recommend staying away from F or G series S63 or N63 engines. Google them and you will see the nightmare people have been dealing with. If you are looking for more comfort and a little more leg room look at the E class or Audi S or RS6/7.

My stock motor exploded with 2 massive holes because of bearing seizing at high RPM. Not to mention the quart of oil it consumed every 800 miles or less, which multiple dealers told me it was NORMAL! I love BMWs but that was the last straw for me.
