Wheel Offset Question

I currently have stock 19" AMG wheels on my 2017 C63S Sedan, and am looking at getting a new set put on with a wider rear wheel, either 20x10 or 20x11. How do I know what offset I will need on the new wheels? I tried looking up calculators, but I can find any that are car specific. Is there a formula for this? Any help would be great, thank you.

Stock forged cross spokes are 20 x 10.5J ET57.

I use willtheyfit.com as it has the visual comparison.

Yeah everything I've looked up says my 2017 C63S Sedan has 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear.... is that incorrect?

At the end of the day, I'm trying to do make a more aggressive stance than stock. Want to go a little wider in the rear, but doing all of these calculations is making my head hurt.

Didn't realize you had sedan (glad I didn't buy your rims!).
Your sedan is indeed 19x8.5 ET38 and 19x9.5 ET56

There are some who have fitted wider coupe rear rims on sedans.

Perfect! That’s what I was looking for. And just to sanity check myself, a lower offset will lead to a wider stance, correct? Or is it the opposite?

...yes, assuming all other spec equal.

btw, I have a sedan too and run
front: 20x9.5+35 on 265/35
rear: 20x10.5+57 on 285/35

I am also lowered on KW and fitment is about as tight as you can do w/o rubbing and still have a daily drivable car - JMO. Others have fitted 305 in rear for racing use but don't recommend for daily.

Ended up going 20x9 ET35 w/ 255/35/20 front and 20x10 ET35 w/ 295/35/20 rear. Will update when they come in!

Uhm, who adviced you on that? The rear offset is way too small at +35! That paired with 295/35 will stick our/poke 27mm more then my setup. Compare pics and judge what that would mean but doubt you want that on your car.

Thats better but still likely too little and will poke quite a bit. You may go narrower, little stretched fire to make it not rub but that setup would not be my choice. If you are lowered it will hit your fender.

I’m not lowered, it’s a stock suspension. Stock offset is 56, which means I’m only sticking out about 3/4” over stock unless I’m missing something....

Sedan is a 9.5” rim with 265 tires.

Right. I currently have 285 on my stock 9.5” wheel, and am going to a 10” wheel with 295’s. That really shouldn’t make too much of a difference and I wanted my stance to be a little wider in the back like the coupes.

With that 295 tire you move 16mm further out compared to the 285 and stock rim setup you have now, which is already 10mm more than stock. That’s a lot of poke. I would recommend take a look first with the 285 and then see if you really want to go 295 and 45 offset. But, hey, your car, your choice.

And compared to a coupe 10.5J wheel with ET57 which I have fitted:

You'll stick out further than this by 5.7mm, which is quite a fair bit in my view, especially with the 295. I've got 285 in that pic, if you go for PS4, they have a bit more rim protection too.

To put it into perspective, I had the coupe fronts machined by 7mm as they looked ridiculous, it made all the difference.
