Oem wheels Question

Hi guys,

I have the common 19 / 20 Black wheels in my coupe, thinking on a change for these ones...how do they look in person? Never saw them

Thanks!

Agree

But leaving price aside, do they look good?

Love mine, just considering a change if better looking

define much better. any of the forged oem amg wheels will be better than most aftermarket wheels. the only wheels that will compete on strength vs weight are going to be aftermarket fully forged wheels such as HRE and those will run you 6-10k for a set. Weight isnt everything but it is significant. I cringe when people talk about the light weight of their "flow forged" wheels. Yes they are light but thats because there isnt much material. One significant pothole and you will have a bent rim. there is a video on youtube of mercedes oem wheels vs aftermarket hitting potholes and showing you the quality difference.

i think the oem wheels look great and are one of the best values used! would i pay new for them, depends on how they fit the car (eg without spacers), proper tires sizes etc. HRE, BBS, rotiform among others would be high up there for me. There are a few cheaper fully forged wheel companies as well that may be newer but equally as good and trying to make a name. I think ive seen one of them in the 4-6k range for a set which isnt too bad. but still in the oem forged wheel range.

I agree in general that OEM forged are great and often people compare them to flow/hybrid forged, which is just wrong. But these days there are more options now for fully forged at a reasonable cost and all made to custom spec (many design and color choices + full spec on dims). I have 2 piece BC Forged and I can attest they are strong - as I was testing unintentionally. I run over a deep hole and could have sworn from the sound of it my wheels are toast...not even a tiny dent, no marks, nothing...like it never happened.
