Wheel color???

I placed my C63s order but not sure what wheels to go with. My first thought was Silver
( I never liked flat black wheels) but keeping with the way I spec’ed out the car, I’m leaning towards the black over Silver. My MB sales associate suggested black. The large rotors give a nice contrast with the black wheels. Please give some input. Happy Holidays!!!

Black wheels go nice with night package and silver exterior. Also the red brake calipers just pop more against black. But it’s personal preference in the end.
Black wheels are harder to keep clean because of the pesky break dust. My wheels always look brownish. CCB or different break pads helps with that.

I wish I got silver instead of black. Due to brake dust, black wheel starts to look horrible only after few days.

Congratulations on your new purchase! My vote is for the black wheels, and it's gonna be the twin 5 spoke version. It's true though once the brake dust sets in black wheels seem to show them more and normal wear and tear will be slightly more obvious, at least for me.

+1 black. It ties in nicely with the soft top and night package.

That's interesting. I have the 5 spoke black wheels, and I find the brake dust is much less visible than on lighter colored wheels I had previously. My previous car had titanium finished wheels, but unless they were squeaky clean you could easily see the brake dust and optically the wheels started to look small if they were covered in brake dust. I think it had to do with the lack of contrast between the tire and the wheel. It's something about the silver lip with the 5 spoke and the dark background of the black that unless you are standing right next to it, you don't really see the brake dust and it sort of disappears. Also all it takes is a pressure wash to get them clean enough. Again, because they are black, they don't have to be squeaky clean to look good, whereas on lighter colored wheels you can see dirt etc. immediately.

I agree, they do look really good fresh after a wash and then kinda dull, but for some reason it doesn't bother me as much as with lighter colored wheels. I don't feel like I must clean them constantly.

The other thing I might wanna point out, which was the deciding factor for me between the two black wheel options is that the ones I have are more concave. They have a lip, so the spokes are further inward, whereas the other wheel designs are more of a flush design. I find concave wide wheels look much beefier. It's hard to see on the current configurator, but here's a cropped shot of my car as I'm going around the Nurburgring where you can see it.

And you won't have to worry about losing the wheel hub cap cover (or whatever you call the part the hides the lug nuts in the other black rim)

I would choose some aftermarket gunmetal grey wheels. But take the Crosspoke Wheels in Satin Black. Or even better take the performance wheels and put them away. They have insidious weight specs. One of the best wheels you can take.

I currently have these on my car:

I like the Black. It matches nice with Iridium Silver with the Night Package. I have that set up for my 2019 C63s and happy with in. The Silver are also very nice giving the car a more flashy appearance.
When I was looking in early 2019 for C63s, I was undecided, changing my mind everyday on what exterior color I wanted and finally went with Iridium Silver.

I’m not a fan of black wheels.

If you want an exclusive look, go with silver. A sporty look, go with black.

Even though its an illusion, the silver wheels "look" bigger, as if the spokes flow all the way to the edge of the wheel..

Changed order to silver with the thought of being able to paint them black if I change my mind. Kind of funny Barbalatte with your wife liking black wheels better. Most of guys I asked preferred the black wheels. My wife a daughters liked the silver. If this is the hardest decision in life, I'm doing ok! Thanks for everyones input!

personally I like the silver as it makes the car look classy as opposed to "Boy Racer".

In my opinion, racer is the last word that comes to mind when talking about the factory black forged cross spoke rims. They’re as cool looking as the silver ones, if not better...

Agree totally. Horses for courses. I like them too. My point being, my wife drives this car mostly. The Silver wheel is a little more classy than the again, let's leave out boy then yeah, "Racer" theme.
