🤷‍♂️ Do we all get use to the C63 hp and torque over time?

I've been told by many car friends in the past that no matter how fast your car is, you'll get use to it and want more. Is it true that the thrill of the horsepower and torque disappears over time?

When I first got my C63s Coupe I was gobsmacked by it's lunacy, especially it's acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear I would feel like the car was pulling my face off 🥴

A year later.......... stock power is not that fast to me anymore......... so I tune it, run about 600hp/900nm now and same thing. Amazingly fast the first few months but now it's sorta meh 😕

Did you guys ever feel the same with your cars? Or is this just a C63 thing?

PS: No, I'm not in soft limp mode lol

Regards,
George Lisciandro

Yeah, it's true I think.

Got a light tune on mine to try and keep the car useable under hard acceleration. I'm at around 570hp and 800nm and find it's enough for me but I sort of got use to it already too, after a few months 🙂

We are a highly adaptable specifies and pretty much get used to anything. It helps to drive a different slower car once in a while to refresh the experience. I occasionally drive my wife's hatchback with a whopping 115 HP, which I have to admit is actually a fun little car and a better daily for quick errands around town. The short wheelbase and 2600 lbs curb weight is not to be underestimated. A few days of driving it, and my baseline is recalibrated again.

Happens to most of us I'd assume. My car was in the shop for a week and I had a C300 loaner. When I got the C63 back I had a renewed appreciation for it. Definitely helps to drive something else and jump back in it.

Like others have said, It helps to switch off between multiple cars to keep things fresh. I sometimes switch between the C63S and my wife’s Volkswagen GTI (which itself is fun, but in a different, go-karty type of way), and appreciate both.

Agree. I had a standard loaner for a very long 10 days while the Dealership figured out a rattle. It was great to get my car back.

Avoid Daily driving it .

Go buy a daily car
Pull the V8 out for the dinner dates, or spirited drives.

I have owned everything from turbo 4 cylinders with 400 hp to twin turbo LS V8's with 800 hp. If you drive them often enough, you will get used to them regardless of power level. My suggestion, get a slow daily and drive the crap out of it. Then get into the AMG....you will fall in love again.

Stage 2 tuned 2 weeks after I bought it (used 17 with 11k miles). Getting slightly bored with 615whp, but mainly with the transmission. and dont really wanna spend on upgraded turbos.

everything here is dead accurate. When I first got my Hellcat I said there is no way I could need anymore power, after a while I wanted more power. The fact that it wasn't a daily kept it interesting though and enjoyable every time I got in it. In 3 years I only put 16k miles on it. Replaced it with my c63 but now I need a tune to replace some of the missing power, still not a daily though.

It truly is a sickness. I daily a 300hp Focus ST and my weekend car is a 430 AWHP 527 AWTQ Taurus SHO. Driving the Focus all week, makes the Taurus feel like a rocket ship and it is only a high 11 second car lol.

This is the answer. Most of my driving is on a company car, which is an Elantra. Every time I get in the C63s I appreciate the power. I also have a 2015 S4 for the winter and hauling the dog around, and going from the C63 to the S4 makes the S4 feel like an Elantra.

hmmm, how should I explain lol
ultra light vehicle + Front wheel drive + electric motor + instantaneous power off the line = Power mode.
The Prius has 3 modes of driving

1. Eco - Very restrictive
2. Normal - Drives like any other car
3. Power mode - instantaneous power , like dart or bat out of hell

But then again its a Prius , its great i have a comfortable six figure salary however at the the end of the spectrum I can be very practical.
I have a family , thus i never really enjoyed racing up the streets or peeling off at the intersection.
Its actually a great daily car !

1.Affordably ,Paid off in one year
2. Ultra dependable
4. Set of 4 all weather New tires $400
5. Maintenance , less than $100
6. Holds its value

As or the C63 , sh** that's my icing on the cake.
