Tell me about it , I definitely will be checking the Ship tracker daily.
Now I really need to prepare the 3rd car garage.
Preparing to see $400 leave my wallet to install a garage door opener.
Mine finally made it to Baltimore late and on the 13th. No update yet, dealer anticipates reviving an update this afternoon or tomorrow. The dealer is nearby in Annapolis, so they are arranging an independent carrier for transport to the dealer to expedite delivery—hopefully I have the car next week!
That is awesome , I believe it can take up 2 days to offload , etc
Did you make any special request...ie
1. Do not drill holes for for front plates.
2. Do not clay wash the car.
I asked them not to mount the front plate. I’ll probably also ask them not to wash/detail and leave most of the plastic on.
The last few things I’m debating are the extended warranty, prepaid maintenance, and if I should get the car PPF coated. I plan to ceramic coat it, which won’t protect from rock chips, but will look nice. I’m worried PPF will detract some from the looks...
Update , the journey is just about over. BEANRANTWERP USYBKBAYWOOD ATD: 2021-01-15 08:53 LT (UTC +1) ETA: Port of New York 2021-01-30 04:00 LT (UTC -5)
I assume the ship will take 2 days to offload then start its transit to Long Beach CA.
The wait is killing me.
I've got to believe the dealership will fight you about leaving on the plastic wrapping. On the other hand, if they agree to do that, you will probably be resopnsible for any minor scratches, dings, etc that would not have been noticed had the plastic been left on your car. Short of a clay wash, let the dealership prep the car so you can inspect it prior to driving off the lot. Taking delivery with the plastic still on, it would be difficult for you to prove to the dealership that blemishes weren't caused by you. Le's face it, dealerships can be a little suspect in their ways.
I have an extensive check off list , similar to the when i picked up my current car.
wants , demands ...etc.
Honestly , half that stuff went out the window once i was completing paperwork and going over the tips and tricks of my last car.
Being I have waited 2 years to the pull the trigger then 8 months from deposit.
ill probably do the same , review paper work - sign , review condition of Coupe , review customs release sheet.
Take a drive with my advisor , make sure everything works as needed.
Request a full tank of Gas
Enjoy the time with the MB tech...then be on my way home.
Drive home takes me less than 30min , on that day I will make it 3 hours

Man that New York stop was short.
We are underway again headed to Brunswick , GA
The current position of SUNSHINE ACE is at US East Coast (coordinates 40.66232 N / 74.0637 W) reported 1 min ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to the port of Brunswick , GA ETA 2/2/21
Update! Coupe Arrived Brunswick Feb 02, 11:00
From what I gather after a short stay in Brunswick the Vessel will make its way down the Panama Canal for a West Coast transit.
Note! The Cargo ships dont stay in Port long , give or take 2 days
Figured once I reach The Panama Canal I would start my 3rd car garage rehab.
Prepare for the Coupe...
1. Car Cover
2. Garage Door Opener - Stealth
3.Garage wall Guards - Protect the Coups doors
4. Caution Guard for water heater Stump.
Finally Heading out of the Panama Canal
Ship spent less than 2 hours.
Sometime soon I will have the estimated Arrival in Long Beach.
Once the Ships set sail they typically fall out of range.
