Tune - worries

Guys,

I have upgraded my exhaust (Akrapovič), air intake (Eventuri), wheels (HREs), tires (cup2s) & brakes (Girodisk two piece rotors with custom Carbontech Performance XP8 pads.)

I have been tracking the car lately & keep thinking about a tune - but worry about...

1.) Sound - I want to tune the car but do not want it to be insanely loud. Some of the C63s tune videos make be nervous about the increased sound. I would love to do a Stage 2 with downpipes - but get nervous about the noise (as I have to drive this car to an office everyday).

2.) Dealership service - How will the dealership treat me if I come in with a tuned car. Up until this point, everything I have done is bolt-on items...

Any words of wisdom about these tune topic.

Your setup is almost exactly what I want to do to my stock c63s. So, I am curious. How does the car handle with lighter exhaust and wheels, and stickier tires? For road or track driving, what does it feel like compared to stock? Does it make that much of a difference?

The car runs awesome.

Just a note on the HRE wheels. I have P111SC’s on Cup 2’s for street driving. Since the HRE’s are so expensive - For the track, I plan to start using OZ Leggera HLT wheels with Toyo R888R track tire. I’m ordering these wheels & tires in early Feb.

As I push the car - I don’t want to spin off track - and damage the HREs. Spinning off track will happen eventually. Also, the R888Rs are more durable track tires.

The light weight HRE’s are amazing - it was a noticeable difference right away. Same with the Cup2s...

To your question - depends on the dealer. They may look away as long as you have no issues with the car, but for sure will not let you get away if you have engine damage. Some other dealers put you on the black list for just having the eventuri installed. But basic rule - if something goes really wrong expect the dealer and MB to void the warranty due to tune (and some even due to eventuri). For standard maintenance and small issues they likely will look away.

Im new here. But so far im gathering that if you want a tune, you just have to accept that your warranty is most likely useless
Daimler can find any tune or piggyback thats been on your car, and most likely will not honor your warranty unless you get lucky or win a long drawn out fight
