With engine downsize happening and exhaust noise regulation getting stricter, I don't think I will be purchasing ICE car as my next car in 5-6 years.
I will just get super fast full electric car with 1000 mile range!
Ughh...the same ugly a$$ interior as the new S-Class. Let's see, ugly a$$ exterior with an M or ugly a$$ interior/4cyl with an AMG. Where's the nearest Porsche dealer...
2017 C4 with 25k miles. Plan on fitting it with the APR K04.3 GTS turbo kit which should be good for 600+ HP.
Pretty cool spec, it’s a base C4 in my favorite color (Graphite Blue Metallic) with some pretty uncommon options ticked like front axle lift. Previous owner did a 10k XPEL, covered every paint surface. Managed to negotiate in a 4 year extended warranty as well which was the icing on the cake.
I know these guys! They're local to me and almost got a clean C63s from them before I found mine. I love their line up even if they tend to ask for an arm and leg pricewise (over priced) but they seems to carry quality cars and sounds like you negotiated them down a bit for a good deal. Congrats!!!
See at that point a 4banger with a turbo and hybrid you mine as well just go EV. Or better yet get the W205 C63 or step up to a E Class AMG. It’s just not worth it paying all of that money for a 4 banger with a awful exhaust note. I can see how many of the C63 people with a W204/205 would not bother or switch to another brand.
If forced to choose between W206 C63 and G80 M3, I would have to go with the AMG. Personally, I would prefer a 4 cylinder AMG sound over the M3s inline 6 lawn mower sound AND would not be able to live with those large G80 nostrils.
That said, I wouldn’t get either. Keep the C63s V8 as long as possible, then AWD E63s or RS6 Avant when time comes to upgrade. If EV, I would go with Audi E-Tron GT.
I'll definitely reserve judgment until we get some reviews on the car. What's clear now is that it will have rear wheel steering, so I guess that's one way to manage that extra weight and still make the car agile. Regarding sound, they may have something up their sleeves as well. For example when Audi went diesel with their S models in Europe, they stuck a speaker system in the exhaust that makes them sound nothing like a diesel. They almost sound like a V8. It'd be fake obviously, but I might take it. To some extent I'm actually intrigued by the hybrid setup. Driving it in EV mode around town for short errands that barely bring the ICE up to operating temperature is something that I have thought about recently with the pandemic. I've actually started to drive my wife's car lately to avoid short trips with the AMG and perhaps keep the mileage down to make it last and also her car has barely moved in the last 12 months, so it needed to be driven.
