oFYI once the handheld is married to the car you cannot use it on another car. The tuner has to virginize it. So pretty much what you are selling is going to be useless to the buyer if you have used it on you car.

Robert at AMR did not VIN lock my tuner per my request prior to purchasing. This tuner is 100% unlocked and free to install on any M177! If you doubt it, I will take a screenshot of the tuner software indicating that it is not VIN locked. Now please stay out of my thread unless you intend on purchasing an item. Rather not have you spread more disinformation. Thanks!

What I am saying is that once the software is uninstalled from your vehicle, AMR's COMPORT can be reinstalled on any C63. It's the same concept as a Cobb Accessport - once the tune is uninstalled, it can then be flashed to another vehicle. I am not saying that this will flash multiple cars, this is not a "unlimited tune", it's transferrable because of the technology in the Powergate+ Handheld (versus the ancient MyGenius handheld). I discussed this at length with AMR before purchasing it because resell was the deciding factor for me.

Just stick to drop-shipping Mertop Racing China downpipes at $350 a pop and keep ripping off MBWorld members with your "cheap" pricing. I saw you said in another thread you were getting the kinks worked out of the tune; did you get everything squared away? What are you going to next?
Sure did! Turns out the kink was my #4 spark plug. Make sure to change your spark plugs with fresh ones more frequently when you're tuned! I spent a few hours changing them out and the car turned into a monster, I broke my personal best multiple times afterwards.
With AMR Stage 2 93 Octane V3, ModalWorks Intake, and Catted DP's, I ran 11.1@127 MPH on the street (easily into the 10's at a prepped drag strip). 60-130 came in at 8.3 seconds. It's very impressive on pump 93 octane, the power feels very strong and consistent.
As for what's next, I'm trading in for a 17' 911 C4 PDK with some interesting specs and an extended Porsche Platinum 4 yr warranty.

Here you go - see "special function". This was a request on my end to AMR prior to purchasing. This gives real monetary value to future owners. Unlike the majority of handheld tuners that are married to the VIN and cannot be unlocked without re-paying for the tune, my AMR COMPORT is not VIN locked. So once the software is uninstalled from your car, it can be resold and re-installed into a new C63 via OBD II. This is also why this tuner is more expensive than others (in addition to the fact that it includes both Stage 1 and Stage 2 with 91 and 93 octane files) that you can switch in minutes.

Out of curiosity, are the tunes pre-loaded based off a generic stock file or does it modify the OEM file with the tuned parameters after reading and storing the stock file, then write the modified file onto the car?

The tunes are all off-the-shelf as you would get with any other hand held tuner. The process starts with the copying your OEM file to the COMPORT and then you can load any of the tune files via OBD II. AMR also has PC software for the COMPORT that allows you to add/delete maps as needed. So, for instance, if you wanted to datalog your car with HP Tuners like I did to really see what's going on and dial things in, you can send that to AMR and they can send tune updates via email. Download those tune file(s) to your PC, plug in the COMPORT, add the new tune(s) and off you go to flash via OBD II. It's a really cool hand held, much more modern and capable than the MyGenius hand held which is sold everywhere and ancient by todays standards - it's very quick to change between maps. The Powergate3+ (COMPORT) has become a very popular hand held on other platforms as well including VAG, it's manufactured by Alientech and they are legit in the industry.

Hey sorry for the thread derail but how many miles were on the car and on the tune that caused the plug to fail. I only ask because I asked my tuner (kirklandhans) for more power but he said I'll eat up spark plugs so just wondering how many miles you got out of your plugs.
