Anyone know how to stop this?

When I drive my 2018 c63s amg I have a weird sensation on turns on the freeway where it feels like the wheel and tires lock into place making the steering on turns sticky. I will turn to the left and right and the same happens on both sides. It feels like a lane keeping system but it happens without lanes. After the initial movement of the wheel and when I keep the wheel at the same angle is when it feels like the wheel sticks into place. Does anyone know how to get rid of this or is this standard?

Not sure if there was ever a fix but i have seen threads on this issue before. Take a look at this and read through. theres a few threads on here about it so you'll have to do some research to see if anyone here has a fix.

I have the same feeling once in a while,....had MB check the steering and suspension and they found nothing wrong. Happens only on certain wider turns to me.

There are indeed a few threads about steering issues. The one above is a more recent one, but it contains a link to the larger older thread about steering issues. I think several owners have gone through multiple steering racks, but I don't think it ever really got resolved for the cars that have this issue. I do however recommend that you first get your alignment checked to rule out any steering issues resulting from a poor alignment. The front toe seems to go out easily on these cars. I already had two alignments done in less than two years and both times the front toe was out and it caused some strange issues, but mostly when maneuvering around a slow speeds and having the steering at full lock, and it wore down the inner edge of the front tire to the belts. Another possibility is tramlining or worn tires (check the inner edge) or the front tires simply getting stuck in a rut in the pavement. The wide front tires do tend to follow road imperfections, which is to a degree desired as it communicates through the steering what the front wheels are doing and what you are driving on.

Your's sounds like my issue, I started one of the threads about it as well. A software update for the power steering seems to have cured my issue.

I thought I had read the C63S is specifically aligned for toe in. Think the big stink raised at the F1 circuit. Believe by extra toe in, the cars act more like a motorcycle in the corners.

Yes, the stock alignment is slightly toe in. When you drive, the front wheels get pushed back due to the tire friction, so the effective toe is closer to neutral. RWD cars for the street are typically aligned this way. FWD and AWD is different because the front wheels pull the car, so they are aligned toe out as the wheels basically run slightly ahead pulling the car creating toe neutral to slight toe in effect.

Scrub is a different animal, but it factors in. Generally not a good idea to put spacers or cheap aftermarket wheels on a car because it increases the scrub radius beyond what the suspension geometry was designed for.
