Anyone tried Continental Extreme Contact Sport on C63s?

Michelin PS4S is popular choice for our car, but I also found out that Continental offers ECS in the size I am looking to upgrade (275/35/19 front and 305/30/20 rear).
I tried ECS on my previous car (F80 M3) and I preferred it over stock Michelin PSS tires.
I was wondering if anyone tried these on C63s and see if these tires are good enough to give better traction for faster launch.

FWIW, here's a posting I did on the (optional) high-performance Continental tires that arrived on my C43 (my C63 S had Dumb-slop SSRs and they were even worse) ... go with the Michelins:

I have them on my C63 and find them to be quite decent. I’m not doing track days so I can’t really comment on how they work if you really push them but for a street tire I’m happy with them.

I just installed a set not 2 weeks ago. Love them! I’ve run them on several previous cars I’ve owned and swear by them.

The GT500 was modded to 650HP.

Shiit look at that stang, what a beauty. Reminds me of the car I used to have in Need For Speed Most Wanted

Did these Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires hook on the GT500? Any traction issues? Looking for new tyres now too.

I am wondering same thing. If your stang can get good traction with ECS, I am sure it is going to work fine on c63s.

TireRack did a thorough comparison between the ECS, PS4S and P Zero PZ4. It's not far behind, but the PS4S did everything better.

I really had to try to break them loose. I could get a good chirp at 70 by dropping it into 3rd and goosing it. Keep in mind the Stang had a posi-lock differential. And not a LSD. Still, very stable.

I believe I had them on the '13 Benz as well.

The performance difference between those tires is absolutely unnoticeable to 99.9%+ of drivers. Unless you're a pro driver or a very serious weekender, you'll never consistently get your car near enough to the limit for it to make even a remote difference. It's a placebo effect for anyone that thinks they can feel anything.

To be fair, you compared the Conti's which were run flat vs. the Michelin which was not. By default, run flats will be a harsher and crashier ride.

I've driven both, Conti's seem more quiet. Can't tell the difference handling wise on a normal road. I prefer the Michelins since i like the "lip" that extends out to help protect the rims.

I don't disagree with that. Won't be noticeable for the average driver. I am a serious weekender, but the point I would make here for the average driver is the shorter braking distance that the PS4S has. Those couple of feet could mean the difference between stopping in time in an emergency or having an accident. Especially in the wet, the PS4S has proven to have the shortest braking distance among its peers. Aquaplaning is another thing to consider. The PS4S are excellent at evacuating water, which is partly what contributes to the short braking distance. I have never aquaplaned with a Michelin, but I have with other brands.

Incorrect. The Conti Sport Extreme's are NOT run flats...

Out of several pairs of CS extremes, pZeros and PS4S, I can say that the CS wore the fastest followed by the Zeros and then the PS4S.

PS4S had the most grip and is the only tire I use now.

I had them on my CL63AMG. They had better grip than even the Continental DW in the dry, but no tire I have err had handled better than DW in the Wet... gripped like glue to the tarmac in the wet. Extreme contract definitely dropped wet grip intentionally to increase dry grip which is definitely did.

Every Michelin’s Pilot super sport tire I ever had snapped its internal belts and then drove like a damn bias ply tire once internal belting. Two of them developed Bubbles in the sidewalls as well too. Honestly the quality control was complete **** on those tires soI will never be buying Michelin again for a car over 3800lbs ever again. They are meant for light cars but our heavy AMGs the continentals are just much better designed to handle the extreme heavy loading forces.

For now will keep using Extreme contacts until they come out with an even newer model eventually soon ...

No doubt on the sidewalls but that is one of my favorite things about them. Right around 9,000 miles they are worn, ready to be replaced and then the sidewall gives out resulting in a "hazard warranty" from Tire Rack and they send you new ones. It's like "buy 4 tires once, get 4 tires for the rest of your life for free"...

Sounds like the person that buys a cheap battery (not OEM) and doesn't spend the coin to marry it to their car. They figure if the battery dies years too soon, the battery is warranted and they just keep replacing cheap batteries rather than do it right.

Some of you guys must be driving on some seriously bad roads if you manage to bubble tires regularly. I've bubbled one tire so far in 20+ years of driving and only because I accidentally hit something. I've primarily used Michelin tires on all my cars.

I'm pretty sure buying the highest rated and most expensive tires is doing it right...
