I'm back in the saddle! 2021 C63S Coupe

I flew to Portland, Maine and drove this 800 miles back to NC two weeks ago - I have to say, it's a super impressive car! I've had Audi, BMW and previous Mercedes but this one --- oh my, it's so good! The build quality is superior to anything I've had previously, and the tech is on point! I've never experienced all of the distronic features before -- amazing! The damn car will drive itself! There's really no need to mention the engine -- you already know it gives you all the feels! What I am most impressed with is the handling -- "on rails" doesn't do it justice! I've received so many compliements on the matte paint finish as well -- it's such a good looking car! Anyway, I'm glad to be back in the forum -- it's been a while! Peace!

Welcome back man, such a pretty looking car you have. One thing about the coupe is they have so much road presence in real life. Especially the facelifts, which you don't realize until you see another one on the road. They look so much more out there in real life compared to photos.

The only thing you could do is remove those bumper warts on the rear haha. They really do look odd. But apart from that, you have such a beasty car. One that many could only dream of owning.

We are a blessed group. Enjoy and congratulations dude.

Ahh good question -- I wasn't impressed with my inquiry experience at my local dealer so I did an internet search for the car and found this one in Maine at Prime Motor Cars. I was also able to negotiate a few thousand off the MSRP (which no one around me would entertain). That being said, I thought it would be fun to drive it home, which allowed me to stop in MA and PA to visit friends & family. Of course the best part was spending quality time in the car, learning all of the new features and gizmos -- and by the time I got it home, the break in period was over.

Very nice! Raleigh and Cary dealers are kind of lame. Where do you plan on servicing the thang? And I agree that is a great way to learn the car and get the break in over with......visiting family and friends was nice too I'm sure......especially during the Pandamnit!

For sure, the visits were great - I got to show off the new wheels and I felt pretty confident in most of the car features by the time I got home...however still learning a bit! Service wise I'm closest to Raleigh and plan to give them a go for the 2,000 mile rear diff fluid change to feel them out. Hoping that the service dept. is better than the sales dept.! (sales was a joke). If that fails I'll consider Cary for the 10K service and go from there! Likely won't be heading back to Maine for anything unfortunately -- however they were great at Prime Motor.

I should maybe mention that last night I installed the Renntech exhaust module --- and it doesn't work! The exhaust valves simply go to 100% and stay there - the remote buttons unfortunately do not activate the solenoid to go back to "stock" setting. I need to reach out to Renntech today and ask if I received a faulty product or maybe there's some firmware update they need for 2021? By chance does anyone have this similar experience?

Also consider CW Performance.....they're a little farther than i'd like to go as they just moved again: CW Performance - Mercedes-Benz Service for Cary, Raleigh NC.
I hate Cary with a passion and I agree Raleigh is a joke too

I have a 2021 C63S Cabrio (2.5 months old now) and installed the Renntech exhaust module the second week I got it. It has worked for me without any issues. Pressing one button keeps the flaps fully open and pressing the other put it back to stock. I always keep the flaps open even though there is a slight drone at moderate acceleration at ~45 mph but it isn't too obnoxious. I wish the factory sport exhaust allowed you more control of the flaps.

Have you tried both remotes and have you switched out the battery?

Thanks for the reply - I have indeed tried both remotes, unconnected and reconnected the module twice, started, stopped, and drove the car a few times - same results -- the exhaust stays 100% open on both sides without the ability to control it via the module. I have reached out to Renntech and they've consulted their tech guy to circle back with me. It's very apparent (when looking into the exhaust from the rear) the difference between stock and the module - stock switch in comfort at idle opens the valves about 1/4 of the way - where the Renntech module goes 100% open - just need to get it working right or I've overpaid for lack of control

The remote battery or is there something in the module? (I don't believe there is) I've placed both remotes within inches of the module without success

I am not sure if there is one in the module itself but there should be in the remotes. You can definitely tell the difference when the Renntech module has the flaps open, in a good way. Hope you can get it worked out once it is working properly you should love it.

One interesting thing that happened to me was that I had the car at the dealership to fix a bunch of issues with the car and they had it for 2.5 weeks. When I dropped it off the car was in 'stock mode' but when I picked up the car it was in 'open mode'. I wouldn't think that the MB techs found the remote in the center console and clicked on the button so I am assuming that the module lost its 'charge' or something.

I'm sure it'll get sorted - at least it's stuck 100% open so I can enjoy the sound (which is nice!) -- hopefully Renntech will figure out why the remote function isn't working or whatever next steps would be. I should note that I did verify that when I removed the module and went back to stock that the flaps responded to the interior car switch - so definitely not a power issue, and likely the module.
Thanks for the comments!

Renntech customer service stepping it up - confirmed part numbers of the product they sent, and have sent me a new exhaust module (without me having to send back the original until I receive the replacement) and included pre-paid return shipping for one or both. Hopefully it's just a module issue and not a firmware thing with the 2021...we'll soon find out. Thank you Renntech for the excellent customer support!

Their stuff is expensive enough, I'd hope that would be standard operating procedure

Ha, definitely not standard -- they typically require you to send the part back first - I nudged them a wee bit. (still kudos to Renntech for working with me the way they did!)

Ahh super cool! They certainly treated me very well throughout the buying process, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them! I do love the character of this color matte - gets really deep colors through it depending on ambient light.
