Renntech Exhaust?

Anyone install the renntech sport mufflers? Id like some more noise, looking into aftermarket options wondering how much its worth it over the stock Performance exhaust

I would do downpipes before I would spend that kind of money on mufflers. DPs will also likely sound better and offer more performance on a Tuned 63.

..except changing mufflers does not void your warranty, DP's does. But other than that, I agree.

What is a warranty...lol...

Do you think they can detect DPs being on once you replace back to stock? I doubt they could prove that.

Maybe, maybe not depends on many factors like DP's require to overwrite sensor error codes, which probably can be easily detected. But when engine breaks you would then need to get your broken car back to an indy shop and put stock back on ...not sure how practical that is and its costly (drop tranny every time you want to remove or put the OEM pipes back...including for service to be for sure...around $1000 each time.

Oh no doubt on a hassle but my car has never been to a dealership and never will unless it is a big issue and then they will just tell me they won't cover it...lol....

1000% they can detect, mainly because of the coding or "fake out" required to run the DP's without a CEL. As others stated, the cost and time to drop the trans, to swap out the DP's, would not be cost effective, and more so , you would need to run the car after the swap, and depending on what event is requiring you to take the car in, that could be a whole other issue.

Now, with that being said, logging for CEL's etc (more so system events) are not only stored in the ECU, or Data Log onboard.. I have started getting pretty deep into the CAN BUS programming and specific to MB, and see tons of crap logging across the whole car.
So with your logic, that you would only take it back to MB for something major, with that in mind, I am sure they would do a pull and possibly a deep pull from all the data points, and the picture would be painted pretty clear for MB HQ of changes/mods etc..

DP's also change values recorded by the car for intake, mixture, timing blah blah blah.. <- no I am not a mechanic

Just my cheap .02 worth

I still doubt they can if you run the 02 sensor extensions so you don't get a CEL. they can't just void the warranty because they see something they can't prove.

On my "logic" I prefaced with "and then they will just tell me they won't cover it...lol....". DPs would be the least of my concerns....

I have dyno'd the car with the exhaust Open, Closed, with no muffler through the stock cats and with no cats and no mufflers. The power gains are almost not measurable. Its just about the sound. I loved my car with all stock cats and no mufflers – no too loud at all. But I am 23
