MB Warranty and Track Days - any problems?

So aside from separate insurance for track days, I never thought about MB warranty and using an AMG vehicle until I saw that Chevrolet honors the warranty for non-competitive track use (heck there is a Camaro SS owner who had an engine replaced after a bent valve during track use). Maclaren states that you should have a pre- and post- track inspection for warranty. Has anyone run into issues for warranty use after tracking their C63/C63S, or even has MB try to void their warranty from just spirited road driving?

Looking at their warranty book (there is a different entry for tires):
"RACING OR COMPETITIVE EVENTS: This warranty does not cover the
costs of repairing damage or conditions caused by racing or from use
on closed-circuit race tracks, nor does it cover the repair of any defects
that are found as the result of participating in a racing event."

I am not talking about tuned cars, or competitive racing. I have an intake and catted DP (no tune), so interested in keeping the warranty.

Why would you ever tell them you tracked it?

/\ This.

These cars are meant to be driving hard, if it breaks I'm expecting it to be fixed racetrack or not.

I will admit that my dealer's service org is amazing (Langley Mercedes, BC), but they actually got the country AMG specialist involved for a shifting problem that _only_ occurred on the track ... and the specialist identified the issue, which was then fixed by the dealer. It was the specialist's experience-level that enabled identification.

I've had few issues with my AMGs, but everything I've taken to the dealer has been nicely dealt with. Support like that encourages me to buy and recommend AMGs (and my dealer, of course).

OTOH, I wouldn't think of making a claim for any brake/tire issues after tracking the car.

My dealership here in Reno covered everything no matter what and I track the heck out of it. Check out my thread on Thunderhill for more details. Never any warranty problems.

It is not something I would outright state, but just trying to see if anyone had their dealer or MB hunt for a reason to deny claim. Also, small things pattern of tire wear gives it away.

When I had a 2007 335, the turbos and associated parts were breaking down at a higher rate, and BMW was pulling out all the stops to try and deny claims (including analyzing gas for wrong brand, online statements of tunes).

I agree, but it is not beyond manufacturers to try to void warranty, even if you use the vehicle as intended. For example, Nissan GTR voiding transmission warranty if using launch control (or even turning off VDC), or the E36 M3 Lightweight warranty voided if you install the provided X brace and oil pump.

There are very few street situations where you can use a majority of potential of many performance vehicles.

I hear ya, at the end of the day I think if someone really fought hard enough they'd get everything above you mentioned covered but who's really going to go through all of the money and hassle to do so.

On the other hand how many people are truly getting denied for stuff as much as it's talked about on here I've heard of 1 case of warranty not covering something.

Let's also consider the AMG Driving Academy really is not much different than most track days. If you keep your car stock and use it at HPDEs, most issues should be covered by the warranty.
