2020 C63s rear camera doesn’t show guidelines & only shows wide angle view

I bought the car used after a lease. In the beginning i thought there was no guidelines in a 85k car lol. After watching reviews on youtube come to find out it’s supposed to have guildlines and 2 different camera angles ( since I dont have the bumper sensors & extra cameras). Anyway has anyone dealt with this issue before?

Snap a pic of what it shows on screen in reverse. You should just be able to jump from one camera angle to the other.

Easy, take it to the dealer. Still under warranty. Not a big deal.

Mind posting a link to those reviews? I don't think I've seen a review of a FL C63 w/o the parking package, so I don't know what the standard backup camera looks like. The two angles is a feature of the 360 camera in the parking package, along with parking sensors etc. Cars in the USA now need to have a backup camera by law, but no guidelines or anything, so I wouldn't be surprised if w/o the parking package you only get a basic camera view of what's behind your car.

I also have a FL without parktronic as well and the back up camera should have these two viewing options

Thanks. That makes sense. Now that I'm thinking about it, the regular backup camera was a standalone option in Europe I believe, so I guess for the USA market it was standard to meet regulations. Wondering if OP's car is an early victim of the shortages and just got a basic camera view. There were some odd configurations that left the factory during the early days of the shortages. I remember a C43 that was ordered with the analog instrument cluster, but instead came with a digital instrument cluster that had only partial functionality.

Very odd. Hopefully OP didn’t fall victim to something as simple as this. That wide view is nice to have when pulling out of a parking spot to see if anyones coming. TBH, I wish all Mercs came with the 360 view as standard, especially with my car being lowered and not getting too close to a curb. It’s manageable in a car this size, but a necessity in something larger like an SUV, in my opinion.

Yep, the 360 camera is worth every penny of the parking assist package. It's the main reason I got it. The guide lines of the side cameras allow perfect parallel parking close to the curb w/o scratching the nice, expensive wheels, and it's also super helpful when pulling into a parking structure, so I can pull up close to the machine to reach the ticket. Especially useful in the coupe with the seats low down, and with the birds eye view I can see if I'm properly centered in the spot.

It’s the one option I wish I had, but given the current market, I was happy enough to find something that checked pretty much every other box.

Yeah, that looks like something isn't working on yours. The camera angle in general looks different on yours, but it's a bit hard to tell in the dark. But like @cornerjunkie pictures, I can see the rear bumper in both angles, whereas in yours the rear bumpers seems to be below the camera cut-off. Is yours a sedan? The coupe camera is lower down, because it's hidden inside of the Mercedes emblem and pops out, so that could explain the difference.

yeah, already talked to my local dealer, they’re gonna check it out. I have a coupe & the camera pops out of the emblem for me as well, maybe camera unit needs to be replaced? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Hopefully it’s something as simple as switching something on/off within Xentry, but strange that it’s not showing.
